ABANTU for development, are you serious about this request? At present even people who are duly registered are having difficulty accessing the service so if these kayayei and elderly women are included who is going to pay for them. think about this. I guess what you first have to do is to look for how you can advice the government to better the scheme and address it present challenges, not such request at this stage

Make NHIS a National Health Service or to be right on the point a Free Medical Care, which will also imply a one time premium. It means that patents visiting health facilities, public or private will be paid by the state without the citizen paying a premium. Instead of a premium the current VAT of 2 half percent will be increased to 5 percent. In that case no person in Ghana will be deprived of health care whenever he visits a health facility public or private.
