In these dire times in Ghana, it is NO BLOODY BUSINES of govt to get involved in materminding the arrangement of pilgrimages for pastors to Israel, or to anywhere else. In fact, if the govt paid for some Muslims to go to Mecca too, then that's most unwholesome and MUST NOT BE REPEATED.

How would the trip transform the fortunes of the country. why not sponsor every citizen so we all come back transformed. That is what happens when people go from the university to become ministers without haven/t done a decent day's job in their life.
How is the $2million going to be accounted for in the nation;s financial statement. Was this barmy idea in the manifesto?

It is only when sensible people in the society speaks against it that they realize their FOLLY. When water company needs money to see to the flow of water (which has been off for weeks) and electricity and gas, they wanted to spend tax payers $2 million to sponsor pastors to Israel just to pray for Mahama. The same God in Ghana is the same God in Israel and I see no reason why they should spend tax payers money to send the Pastors there. Now that sensible people other than NDC members have spoken,they are trying to deny it. Time will tell.

It is anachronistic for govts to support religions groups when the country lacks so many basic needs and people are dying from basic diseases like malaria, cholera etc etc.

The idea of govts supporting religious groups for pilgrimage is divisive and shows how our govts are weak-minded and cannot think of a better way of helping the people than to use this idiotic (no proof) ways just for votes and concerned about country's development.

I expected Mahama and co to do a better job than Mills and Kufour because they were of the old non-progressive culture but for a young President Mahama to indulge in these sort of stupid things, vis-a-vis the numerous basic needs of the country means Ghana is in a real shit, period.

Congratulations to Bishop Osei Bonsu and the Conference of Catholic Bishops for advising Catholic Priests NOT to accept any offer of a State sponsored trip to Israel to pray for GHANA.

Bogus Pastors are now becoming a real problem in Ghana.

Every effort should be made to prevent Catholic Priests from becoming part of the PAFAPIG - Professional Association of Fake Pastors in Ghana.

The fake pastors are prepared to connive with politicians to do anything to pretend that they can just PRAY to solve the problems of Ghana.

Bishop Bonsu is right in stating “SENDING PASTORS TO JERUSALEM IS NOT THE BUSINESS OF GOVERNMENT.”

The Government should concentrate on finding ways and means of providing reliable sources of uninterrupted supply of WATER and ELECTRICITY to citizens.
