It is a very exciting news for all Ghanaians. Our pride can be restored again. We must therefore try to live up to it. We mst repaint all the sidewalks and clean those brown dusty edges of the streets. Homewowners are to be compelled to paint, clean or cement their entrances and pavement plots leading to public streets. Hawkers and beggers must be kept away till after the event to show our hypocrisy. We must pretend as if Accra is heaven by covering all the open gutters until its over. Above all we must rent five helicopters to spray anti-mosquitoe pesticide all over the city. California did that in the early eighties to get rid of Mediterranean fruitflies. Now there is hardly a mosquitoe or any hostile insect to be found in California. Ghana will be ready to keep our electricity flowing without the usual frustration of interittent interruptions ( I doubt that seriously as long as the same guys remain in control). What I am afraid of is availability of adequate water supply to wash. These guys sweat a lot, you know and rationing on this day will not be a pleasant experience.

To the folks at home anytime an important match gets to the living rooms, the TV sets go blank - LIGHTS OUT !! Wow that would be an effort gone down the drains, dont you think so ?
