How can a trained lawyer reason like this?How could he say the national security apparatus temper with Bawumia's wheels?You know,by virtue of Bawumia's position in the country and fact that he's a petitioner,in the landmark case against the president,I consider it irresponsible for his driver and the security to move his so called new vehicle without making sure it's safe to drive.This Kwadwo Afiriyie, has to be made to provide an evidence to back his statement.I recommend a law is made for all lawyers in Ghana,go back to rewrite their examinations. Kwadwo Afiriyie is a disgrace to the Ghana BAR Association.

I have said this before John Mahama was sworn in, and the Kenyan constitution stipulating that the petitions to the SC must be resolved before the president is sworn in has supported this point of view. Even Americans during the Bush Algore electoral dispute was resolved before Bush was sworn in.

We are in Africa, and that means everything is done through force, and those in power will attempt to use power to prolong their stay in the office of the presidency. If we allow this to go on, this country will one day not be peaceful. The person sworn in as the interim president pending the SC decision would do everything in power to delay the process, and if possible, to the end of the term. This is not acceptable.

There is clearly a legitimate question to be asked about how it is that the front tyres of two separate brand new cars carrying NPP officials heading for and from the same function would burst. But there is a better way of throwing the question out there and leaving the public and the security agencies something to think about rather than lacing it with useless innuendoes about motives and the case at the Supreme Court.

The cause of tyre burst could be attributed to so many factors. The over heated road could cause tyre burst, reduced tyre pressure could also cause tyre burst. The report so far within the public domain is that , the tyre exploded which invariably is a mechanical fault and could not be attributed to the NDC nor the National Security agents. I think Sir John is sick in his mind as result of his hatred for the NDC. If Jake should also have tyre burst and so what. Isn't it coincidental?

Such people like Sir John, don't believe that, vehicle accidents are caused by real factors such as, the driver's error or mechanical failure by the vehicle or by environmental conditions.
Sir John fell short of saying the NDC used juju to cause the accident involving Dr Bawumia but that is what he meant by saying that, " ... the security officials had tampered with the tires of a brand new vehicle on which Dr Bawumia was travelling".
How can the tyres of a vehicle be tampered with without the driver knowing or realising it at least in time to remedy it?
Too much of superstition is making us unable to think properly to find real solutions to real problems. Superstition is enemy of good reasoning and lack of reasoning means we are unable to solve real problems.

This is a very serious allegation and I really hope that the NPP has the evidence to support it. Regardless of which party we belong to, I believe it is important that we start holding our politicians accountable for their actions and pronouncements.

If it is true that the NDC or anyone is behind the accident, then those people should be brought to justice, and that should be a call that we all make, regardless of our political party.

On the other hand, if this is just another reckless and irresponsible statement, then we should likewise, hold those making the statements accountable and be brought to justice if they have broken any laws.

At the end of the day, we need our politics to be civil and responsible, and the sooner we hold our politicians accountable for their actions and pronouncements, the better it will be for our democracy and the future of Ghana. Let's remember that our own sense of responsibility, accountability and fairplay will be reflceted in the type of leaders we get.

We do not even know the cause of the accident and if the vehicle had a problem with it for instance? Punctures on tyres are not an uncommon cause of major accidnets on our roads and these occur everyday across the country. Would you say it is the NDC (or any other group for that matter) which is/are behind all these accidents? Were the tyre pressures optimum as these guys were driving along what are not ideal roads? Was the driver over-speeding, and did he have to break suddenly for any reason?

First let us have a proper and thorough investigation, then allow law enforcement agencies to determine the cause. For the life of me, I simply cannot imagine ANY GAIN that Bawumia's death would bring to the NDC. He is of no consequence and is neither a leader today, nor do I see him as a credible one tomorrow!! NPP should stop this nonsense!
