You are repeating the history of your forebearers who went to the Queen to 'beg' not to grant Ghana indeendence. Come to think of it, you are quoting the most unreliable source of information - DI. And oh! The Arab Spring started with the Arabs that reside back in their homelands. Cleaners, Taxi Drivers, and the few Ghanaian professionals abroad won't join in your dillusion when they've got bills to pay. Live with your losses as the world has moved on since Dec 7 2012.

According to my information the npp wing in the US attempt to storm troop the city under massive demonstration protest paled into an embarrassing failure.Only a small band of evident drunkards and some tramps numbering about ten gathered round shouting themselves hoarse and emitting violent alcoholic smell in the process.according to the report it drew derision from passersby who were wondering what this idiots were all about.Some Ghanaian who happen to be around the place at the time had to take cover to hide away their embarrassment.

They wanted AKuffo-Addo to be president so he can clear the way for them to continue their drug trafficing business, and so since he lost they have packed themselves at a deserted corner of some street somewhere and took these pictures claiming there was a demomstration by Ghanaians in the US. This is not true. There was nothing as such. Akuffo-Addo lost the election period! All of over the world, during elections, there are few errors and mistakes but compared to the overall results those errors mounts to nothing! Akuffo-Addo and his cronies should just accept defeat and move on! We won't sit down and allow that Liliput and his theives to destroy Ghana!! Never, our God will prevent it!

Indeed, anytime one walks in front of the White House, where our folks are demonstrating, you come across all kinds of demonstrations and even protesters permanently camped outside the White House and in Lafayette Park protesting for some bizarre causes. It is a testament to unfettered freedom of expression and democracy in the United States of America. So in the name of freedom and unfettered constitutional democracy, people should be able to even go to the moon to demonstrate for their cause.

On the merits of the demonstration, I would suggest to the demonstrators that they go and read the famous United States Supreme Court decision, “Bush vs. Gore, 2000” on the controversial state of Florida presidential election in 2000. As with long held legal and common sense practice, The US Supreme Court reaffirmed that election results are declared by electoral commissions/board of elections. That in the absence of overwhelming evidence of electoral malpractices /improprieties, the election results declared by the electoral commissions/board of elections must stand. In principle, Supreme Courts are not electoral commissions/ board of elections. They cannot change the results of ballots cast.

At best they can determine that there were such overwhelming evidence of electoral malpractices that the elections in particular polling stations must be re-run.

Here we have people demonstrating that ‘let my vote count’ yet they support the electoral petition before the Ghana Supreme Court that ‘4.6 million votes’ cast in the December 2012, must be set aside so that their preferred presidential candidate is declared the winner. A word to the wise is enough. If they truly believe in ‘letting votes count’ then the ‘4.6 million votes’, they are asking the court to set aside must also count.

The political lesson they need to learn and accept is what Mitt Romney, the Republican candidate in the USA, told his wealthy campaign contributors/donors, that, ‘in an election, somebody must win or lose’. It is not just good enough to so say you fought a good fight and lost. If you lose you must accept defeat and move on. I hope the ‘let my vote count’ group in Ghana would move on. The elections are over!
