May Chinua Achebe's soul rest in perfect peace! The man was a trailblazer for all Africans for putting African literature on the international stage. Needless to say that his pioneering work, “Things Fall Apart” was and still is a blast. His death is a great loss to the world and not just Nigeria or Africa, but the whole world.

I do salute him for his stand against corruption and tribalism in the Nigerian society.The continent has lost a pioneer who vehemently criticized and detested these social evils which are pervasive in all sectors of our African society.Evils that have plagued and retarded the development of the continent.Evil deeds sanctioned by leaders in authority to live at the detriment of the majority of the population.Chinua Achebe's dream of fighting corruption should not go down the grave on his demise. "Things Fall Apart" only exposed some of our morbid African ways, and if you read it in an American university like I did, it was not a "pretty site" discussing that book!
