For me, the bottom line for this 'fight for equality' is the SINFUL SALARY INCREASE GIVEN TO MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT. It is not fair to those of us who are outside parliament. How much do pensioners receive?

The system that was meant to bring more transparancy and efficiency is still not functioning after 4-years because it is being muddied to pave way for corruption to prevail. NLC and FWSC can never bring sanity into the Salary structure because of their dire effort to avoid honesty.

Is it really necessary to confuse us with "market premium"; "harmonization"; "standardization"; and those magical words, when you really don't mean to use them?

It is wrong for 'external' heads of departments to submit "appropriate inputs" to the Ministry of Finance in addition to your (FWSC) orders.

Salary is closely related to job security, with the absolute security enjoyed by teachers, what type of salaries should they expect? Teachers need performance contract to justify their salaries. Teachers salaries is not determined by their output likewise many civil servants. Non performing teachers with various health conditions including mental disorders are paid and even promoted. Our sense of comparison is very poor. Despite the fact that some mps are boycotting Parliament, the attrition rate of an mp is higher than the teacher. If an mp is not re-elected in the next election, she/he looses his job. Let's make objective comparison and criticism to move our country forward.

Why can't we have excessive wage bill when the politicians think that they are the only people who attend funerals. They should stop telling our hard working teachers that balderdash so that they will come and teach us.

This long implementation process doesn't make sense.Gov't had all the time to study and budget for this new pay policy.President Kuffour started.He signed the white paper but did not rush because 'productivity' had to be considered before this new pay policy becomes sustainable.NDC gov't came,studied it and said "everything is in order so let's carry on."Some sectors are already laughing and when it's time for others to get their share of the national cake,now that gov't(through fwss) is saying that the budget can't sustain it,so it will be in phases.May be,over a period of hundred years.Surprising!Mr Idrissu in ministry of finance and Graham at fwss should understand that this ko-ko-ko marathon implementation process will never be entertained in Ghana.lf you have started it,complete it now.You can't hijack national revenue to few sectors.This is Nonsense.
