WHEN THE HISTORY IS TOLD, IT WILL BE SAID THAT GHANAIANS WERE OFFERED FREE SECONDARY EDUCATION, IMPROVED UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, SOCIAL HOUSING FOR THE POOR AND AN EGALITARIAN SOCIETY BUT 50% SAID NO THANK YOU.   Successive governments have put so much burden on themselves to the point that they can't do anything right. Who says it's the responsibility of the government to house chief executives pay water and electricity for them,give them SUVs, fuel and garden boys ,,dabble in religion,provide V8 SUVs for chiefs. The list goes on. What country in this world use more than 60% of it's internal revenue on civil servants. Govts should be bold shed off some of it's burden.

You have been finding money to pay all kinds nonsensical debts to crooks, where as dedicated workers go without pay for months without end. Which part of our constitution allows this decadence? The biggest strain on our economy is the pervasive immoral payments of questionable judgement debts, even if legitimate why must government rush into payment irresponsibly, when there are other pressing needs all over the place?

  All because of the "Single-Spine Salary Structure" (SSSS) which was not fully thought over but hastily approved by the NPP administration prior to their leaving office.
  I believe in the nearest future, some of these ministries are going to merge up and some staff made redundant in order to cut down on government's payroll expenditure. The ministries payroll are over bloated. There is obvious duplication even tri-plication of the actual positions needed for the various sectors to function effectively and efficiently.
  In fact, many staff have nothing to do at their so-called offices or posts. Go to the ministries and see things for yourselves! Obvious Idling!
  "Ghost workers" is another problem.
  In Ghana and other developing countries, the following six wasteful positions as receptionist, secretary, stenographer secretary, messenger, typist, are commonplace.. Unfortunately, in the developed countries only one single staff does the job of all these six workers in Ghana, including some payroll element.... Pure Waste of government funds! At least the government can get rid of half or 50% of these secretarial/administrative jobs without affecting the efficiency.
  Unfortunately, no government can do this simple thing... afraid of being voted out of office the next time around.. In fact, I don't see my Social Democratic Party (the NDC) doing such a thing... No, no, no.

The about 3k public servants starting from the president, have total salary almost worth that of about 100,000 fellow civil servants. Is this not crazy? Yet, you still yield to stupid demands of MPs who are also civil servants and you want the rest to suffer? Na lie. MPs will never have their salaries delayed but the rest can go for months without salaries being paid by the Govt. It is time for revolution, all public servants should strike so that the Govt and greedy useless MPs and their cohorts will revise their stupidity

Our prez, ministers and MPs take 60.9% of globally accepted and pay workers between 30% and 35% ofthe globally accepted. TO ENSURE FAIRNESS IN PAY THE PAY OF THOSE UNDER ARTICLE 71 AND INDEED ALL SALARIES MUST BE A % OF THE MINIMUM WAGE. Eg, the Prez can take 2,000 times the minimum wage. Thus when the minimum wage is GH¢1 the Prez takes GH¢2,000, when it goes to GH¢4 the prez takes GH¢8,000. By so doing we all rise together and fall together.
