  Truely africa has lost a great literary scholar.May his soul rest in perfect peace.. Is very painful..A servant education is a slave's education . No Black person has ever been thought to think like white folks. Why African don't have language and they have dialets? Black come out of these schools and universities to be highly educated servants, slaves not in control of their destiny..Why can't we write in our own dialets and see their language to be second...That is where Things Fall Apart..Well done Achebe..

  Chinua Achebe exhorted us black people to tell our own story, regardless of the medium of narration.
  
  We should not interpret our culture through the lens of Western culture. In fact Achebe advocated pride in our own culture, and emphasises this in Things Fall Apart by immersing the reader in Ibo culture.
  
  Let us take pride in what is ours. Part of our tragedy is the passive acceptance of western culture and values to the detriment of our own.
