All these complaints about Delta Airlines and the treatment meted to its clientelle is of no use. Do not fly Delta Airlines. Use other lines even if it means getting a transit visa and passing through Europe. If no one from Ghana or West Africa flies with Delta the will be forced to revise their attitudes towards us. That is the only way to make them change their racist attitute. For me I will never fly with them. Do not fly with them. Period.

Then the choice has to be made between flying in a small and cramed plane without some of the inconveniences experienced with Delta or flying with a big plane like Delta and having the frustrations of the day.

THE TOILETS ARE DEPLORABLE, THE INFLIGHT ATTENDANTS ACT AS IF THEY ARE DOING PASSENGERS A FAVOR AND NOT THERE TO PROVIDE A SERVICE, AND THE LIST GOES ON. THERE IS NO COMPARISON WITH FLIGHTS FROM THE MIDDLE EAST. THEY KNOW HOW TO TREAT PASSENGERS. THEY ARE TRUE SERVICE PROVIDERS. The only way to change things is to sue them for a hefty compensation in the US where they are less likely to be buying judges or whole courts, as is standard in Ghana.

Make them pay, reduce their shareholders benefits and you will see change.

Anything else is a vain, moot enterprise !!

Never in the USA. Because of the corrupt and incompetent officials we have in the aviation industry, Delta has taken a page from the defunct Ghana Airways. Just last month Ghana Civil Aviation met with Delta management in Accra with regards to poor service and how Delta plans to improve their service. At the conclusion of the meeting Delta promised to improve the quality of service. Reading from the experience of the passengers on DL0027, I can conclude nothing has changed.

The attention of the Sector Minister must be drawn to the treatment of passengers by Delta. How long can Delta treat passengers with impunity?

When I have to travel to the USA, I would rather fly Klm or one of the European airlines to Europe and transit from there. At least I know the European airline especially Klm, BA and the likes will treat me with respect.

Has anyone wondered why Flight attendants on Delta flight are mostly Jamaicans and Mexicans? I stopped flying Delta Airlines Since 2009 when one of the flight attendants (a hispanic lady) threw sugar at me from the isle. The story? I needed to finish reading an article for presentetion. That was about 90 minutes before landing in Accra. I politely - yes, politely - asked for sugar when she brought my coffee without it. When she came back with the sugar, my head was still down because I was reading. She threw the sugar from the isle and started walking away. A white lady on the other side of the isle shook her head in disbelief. The return flight to the US was my last on Delta. As for my recommendations for a permanent solution, I will come back shortly.

Ghana can’t run an airline and I think Delta was spoiled by Ghanaians. Delta is doing well all over the world. Nothing works in Ghana due to the lazy corrupt attitude of Ghanaians.

i had the same problem 2010,trying to avoid transit and fly direct with delta.infact since then i prefer to even fly with nicaragua airline,why my first encounter was we were suppose to leave @jfk @4pm and about 8pm was when we boarded the plane.then at 10pm we were still sitting and waitting to fly,at 1020pm we were on the ranway,when the captain announced there is hydraulic problem so we need to change a plane.0130am we where still waitting just to be told there is no captain available to fly that morning and therefore, they are arranging us for hotel for the following morning about 0245am in down town. then we have to come back@0500am to check in again to fly @0600am.our aircraft crew treated us like shit why, we couldnot get a real meal on board and we were serve with small brown bread with small cut of turkey ham plus soda.infact i was hungry for the 10 and half hours to ghana.on my return i have to buy myself a fried rice to carry into the aircraft, and since then i promise not to fly with delta airline,so no wonder what had happen to those who got stranded

On a ten hour flight we were served once. I later found out that, you are free to walk back the isle and get your own breakfast. Folks give Turkish airline a try. By far the best airline in my 30 plus years in the skies.They also have a generous charges for rescheduling your flight. The last flight i cancelled cost me $120.00 as opposed to $800.00 from Delta

In 2010 I flew with Emirates and 2011 I flew with Lufthanza. Both of them were FANTASTIC.This summer by God 's grace,I'm flying with Emirates. I got a real deal of under $1700.00 from Toronto to Accra in July. So people should start looking into flying with other airlines.Emirates services are SUPERB.

There are many airlines plying the Accra route and you decide which one to choose for your trips! Learn to read customer satisfaction sites and reviews before you spend your hard earned money. Stop whining and be smart consumers.

I was surprised to witness even the way some Delta flight attendants talk to passengers on flight from JFK to Ghana - and they spray the plan before take off - very humiliating. They will not treat any American black or white in that way because they will sue them to the stone ages.
