The president´s comment was right on spot. Every one knows the capabilities of the people the electronic media personnels have been calling to comment on matters of national importance. A person like Owusu Bempa would not speak to the question put to him but would rather veer off and do his "political talk" without addressing the topic. Yet, these stations would always call on this individual when in deed, more knowledgeable people could have been given the chance. These stations know how to raise tension in the country by relying on these people to carry out their dirty jobs for them.

Why would they always have to call on Hon. Appea Ofori or Kennedy Agyapong just to always end up making controversial statements which would take a long period to die down.

The president was spot on when he made that comment. In any case, was that the only statement the president made when he met the media personnel? Why have the just ignored all that he discussed with the and only harping on just this statement which did not even last for sixty seconds?

You have cited many examples of NDC machinery using the media. That is true but it does not mean the president is wrong. He is absolutely right that the media churn out stories that have no bearing on national development and often rather incite one group against another. That is not what journalism is supposed to be about. If anything the President knows more about democracy and media now than you Sam Awuku ever will in your life time. Sometimes when a person in authority says something that you do not agree with at leats pay attention, to what they are saying and learn what you can from it instead of just trying to score cheap political points.

What a pity we have young men like Awuku who claim to be politicians and hope to be future leaders in Ghana. He is rude, uncouth, uncultured and quite unintelligent. Just because you can use the English language does not make you smart. He has no respect for authority, least of all that of the president, which is extremely sad. He is ignorant of issued and does not even understand the context of the president's statement.

Democracy does not mean that you can say anything, insult others, spew out untruths/falsehoods and cheap propaganda. That is cheap pap being fed to the unsuspecting or uninitiated who simply believe what any idiot such as Awuku tells them. Is there anything wrong with the president pointing out this fact about what the media chuns out on almost an hourly (if not minute) basis? And to label the president an "alien" is another way of saying he is "non-Ghanaian" and therefore not fit to be in charge.

This is part of the NPP mindset which once again displays a very narrow-minded and stupid attitude which I hope the Ghanaian electorate is taking note of. Awuku should also know that his own words today will one day come to haunt him if he thinks Ghanaians are short-sighted or have no long term memory.

I wonder who his parents are and how he was brought up. Unless his parents have a similar mindset and attitude towards others, in which case he has come from 'bad stock' and not fit to be a credible politician. The irony of it is that such idiots will be the first ones to profess to be 'Christian' and sit in the front pews in church where they are hailed!!

In this period of Lent, one thing we are reminded of is the humility of Christ and the fact that through out His Ministry, He (Christ) never disrespected anyone. In fact, he valued all and "WASHED" the feet of his disciples as a mark of servitude. He used this symbolic gesture to teach them that "He who wishes to lead must first learn to serve others". I am afraid Awuku does NO SERVICE to anyone, least of all himself. If he professes to be a Christian, I would say with confidence, that he can 'talk the talk, but not bear the cross', which is a true shame.

In a million years, I would prefer the president's personality and candour to this 'imbecile with "sharp teeth". By the way the last I checked, the "alien" who tried to 'bulldoze his way' into parliament in Ghana was, you guessed it, an NPP candidate who ended up in prison for perjury, false pretenses and false representation!!! I can guarantee you, there were others who quickly changed their allegiances to 'cover their back sides', lest they be exposed as frauds! Awuku is the alien, not the president!

Well I can only hope that the events of recent times (i.e., the Election 2012 petition and Justice Kpegah's sue of Nana Addo) will help straighten things up. How can we live in a country where a President, to the neglect of MOST PRESSING national issues, like erratic supply of electricity and water, would make time to explain and justify why some "faceless" philanthropists would/should sponsor some 200 church leaders to Israel. Just a shame! The country and its citizenry have been taken for a ride.
