WHEN THE HISTORY IS TOLD, IT WILL BE SAID THAT GHANAIANS WERE OFFERED FREE SECONDARY EDUCATION, IMPROVED UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, SOCIAL HOUSING FOR THE POOR AND AN EGALITARIAN SOCIETY BUT 50% SAID NO THANK YOU. This is the most unfortunate statement to ever come from the lips of the minister of water resources, works and housing. One was expecting him to throw out his proposals and policies and programs that would address the acute water shortage facing Ghanaians, with a view to solicit ideas from the citizenry on the way forward and not this loose talk. Is he saying that, the Kpong project, the boreholes and it's maintenance are the panacea to this endemic problem, which threatens the very survival of the masses? This massive intellectual deficit of this NDC admin of Mills-Mahama-Amissah Arthur which is steeped in gross inertia and a profound inability to do anything is amazing to say the least. I would rather the Minister took a cue from what Ex President kuffour said about seeking help, when the going gets tough. The water and sanitation situation needs to be addressed for Ghana to reach the completion of the MDG of which Ghana is a signatotory, and i would again entreat this inept adminstration to put it's shoulders to the wheel and do something posistive for once, haba.

Alhaji Dauda's comments about water rationing is deplorable and sad. It is a shame that the status quote of do nothing about a national water crisis is being professed by the very Minister who is responsible for Water Resources.The NDC has being in power for over 8 years and where is their strategy for managing our water resources and ensuring that the country has water? How can we even talk about development when people do not have water to go about their daily chores and factories have to scale down operations because of lack of water. Our politicians and Ghana goverment officials should leave the fire fighting chores to the civil defence guys, the so-called the Fire Brigade, and the officials should embark on strategic planning (plan, organize, staff, coordinate and evaluate) in key areas of the economy and in the responsibilities assigned to them. In fact, Alhaji Dauda's attitude as regards the current water crisis is comparable to that of the former Head of State, Achampong, when during a severe draught in Ghana he told Ghanaian farmers that he is not God to bring the rains. Yes, Ministers and Heads of State are not God and that is the main reason that they have to embark on the humanly act of PLANNING, and more so LONG-TERM or STRATEGIC PLANNING in the efforts to address development issues.

NDC was "supposedly"voted for NOT TO NURTURE & COMPOUND EXISTING PROBLEMS BUT TO SOLVE IT.So,DAUDA,THIS IS NO EXCUSE.SOLVE THE WATER PROBLEM.
The fact that WATER PROBLEM HAS BEEN THERE FOR LONG TIME,WHEN THERE WAS NO OIL FLOWING,DOES NOT MEAN IT HAS TO BE NURTHURED and even compounded by NDC WHEM OIL IS NOW FLOWING.NDC HAS NO STRATEGY IN SOLVING ANY PROBLEMS GHANA HAS,BUT EXCUSES WITH THEIR POLISHED PROPAGANDA.
