  PROF,AKOSAH'S OLD MAN WAS ONE 'HELL' OF A PHILANTHROPIST: HIS SIBLINGS ASIDE, HE WAS KNOWN TO HAVE LOOKED AFTER OVER 30 OTHER NEEDY SCHOOL CHILDREN SOME THROUGH TO UNIVERSITY. THIS FACT WAS PUBLISHED IN A TRIBUTE TO HIS MEMORY IN THE DAILY GRAPHIC IN THE 1980S.

  Thanks,Prof.We as Ghanaians need Transparency in the Media.The present government ,have to have EVEREADY ,Ministers-of-States,Directors,Heads of Departments,etc,who are prepared to answer questions,from the Media.That is Journalist,to be precise!When it becomes a FORMALITY,then the ordinary layman Ghanaian,can even know the RIGHT direction of the government.Eventually,majority of the people,can also educate,the least previlage,in time of elections,with "no dust thrown on their eyes".Thanks

  It is good for the media to expose wrong doing and bring public officials to the limelight. However,unless the public know what is expected of the officials, they can not appreciate media reports that will ensue. It is therefore necessary to enact the freedom of information act. This way, the people can demand their right to information from public offices; information that official will be obliged to provide under the act.

  Euphemistically put by Prof. Professor Agyemang Badu-Akosa. The effectiveness of such a watchdog, all-important function of the gentlemen & women, of the Press can ONLY be achieved when the Press/Media Practitioners are NON-PARTISAN.
  
  It is very sad and appalling to note that many (if not all) of our Press (Media + Journalists) and Lawyers are too BIAS and PARTISAN, to the detriment of our fledgling democracy. For a start, barring the shortcomings/deficiencies, let's accept the suggestion from Prof. Agyeman-Badu Akosa and strengthen the media + lawyers to perform this function for the growth and development of the nation.
  
  Long live Ghana and its citizenry and all who have a stake in the welfare of the country.

  Anyone in public or private life who would spend a minute of their time answering questions from any media house in Ghana would be doing so because they may have nothing on their plate or looking for adventure on a liars train for an hour.
  We have witnessed over the last 20 years that Ghana's media houses have been bought and sold to the NPP and NDC; it does not qualify any of them to carry the title of media house. There has not been a single news coverage or announcement or press release/conference from the government and or any media house in Ghana that has been accurate and truthful; news events border on lies, sensationalism and fabricated innuendos to soil the name of the people they hold a grudge. If and when a media house in Ghana is able to be principled and serious about investigative journalism and not yellow journalism, there will be plenty of questions for J.J. Rawlings and his phony wife, thieving Kufour, his wife and family, the late Atta Mills and his Awhoi brothers, Mahama and his officers and Akufo-Addo about his time as Ghana's AG and foreign minister with even more serious questions for the one and only Georgina Woods who is as incompetent and bribery prone as every soul that walks the street in Ghana.
  Put any of Ghana's so-called intellectual elites on a question and answer session for an hour and you will find their opinions not only to be tainted by tribal and or political affiliations; majority of them cannot apply effectively the subject matter they claim to be experts on. Ghana is collapsing economically and morally because everyone in our intellectual elite club is a thief and thus see nothing wrong with the unconscionable stealing and mismanagement going on within our NPP and NDC parties; they wait in the wings for their turn to be called to engage in their own brand of shameless stealing.
