Chinese immigrants are not the problem, the problem is with the incompetent administration yours. If the Government turned a back on its citizens where rivers, streams and creeks in their villages, which are the only source of water supply to be polluted by illegal activities, then there is a problem. It is a problem when your administration do not have any policy guidelines to control these activities, then it bestow on each communities which are suffering to fend themselves.

He sits at Flagstaff house and.talk of the Ghanaian laws and enforcement agencies as if the people don't know how the operate.
I will entreat Ghanaians not to sit down but to fight to protect their environment and their source of livelihood. They must know that they are on their own. Our corrupt politicians and law enforcement agencies will always take brown envelops at the expense of the indigenous population .
If we fail to address the Chinese menace now, it will a problem which will be very difficult to solve. Ghana must always remember what happened to Haiti. This once naturally endowed country was over exploited for her timber and minerals. It has now become one of the most impoverished countries in the Southern Hemisphere .
Am calling on my countrymen to wake up. Don't listen to these corrupt politicians before its too late. Mahama can continue to cut deals with the Chinese, but we shall fight to protect our environment and empower Ghanaian business community with our blood. I watched this news on GTV (GhanaLiveTV) online on my home-office & I was impressed.
Despite the douptful BRIC affiliations, I'm still considering which way (west or east) to go with my prematured business in the make.
I found out that IT manufacturers in the central Europe are too expensive comparing to the Chinese; to introduce an innovative African IT product into the fast changing world market & the emmerging 3rd. world markets.
Besides that, we Africans can cope more easily with the Chinese culture & traditions (eating & household) excluding global human rights affairs in place of global warming as we're now facing.
The least that I've learned this week is that 50.000.000 US citizens are being fed with 'food stamps' to my shock; comparing to the rest of the 3rd. world's poverty!!!

I'm more into global investment & equal universal respect to eachother, rather than who plays the boss on whoever.

He needs to brush up on his English. And to think he was actually a History/Communications major. Granted, proficiency in English language isn't a panacea for problem. However, you need to be able to at least articulate your ideas in a clear and concise manner and this article clears point to the contrary. This is an unusual act from Ghanaians given our wounderful hospitality to all foreigners and I think our leaders will have to ask why this toward the chinese? First the uncontrollable manner in which they come into the country. The number of chinese in Ghana has increased dramtically these last years and this is a concern. We can argue that they are investors but the issue is this people are more interested in small scale mining and even they bring most of their workers from china thereby employing only a few local people. Secondly, they have no idea about sustainable development and this shows in the reckless manner they polute the river bodies, which serves as the main source of drinking water for some communities. Do we expect this community to sit unconcern as their water and environment are destroyed? Our leaders would have to realise that first and formost their responsibilty is to seek the interest of Ghanaian over anything else. We should regulate the mining industry and if possible reserve small scale mining to Ghanaians. Again, The Ghana trade mission in China would have to change strategy to allude chinese investors into manufacturing preferable food, tele communication,clothes and electronics.

A leader should weigh his comments before he made it out. I may suggest to him to speak in his native dialect and have an interpreter to translate such speeches or comments for him which I think will be sensible and do him good.

Ghanaians by nature are peace loving people and welcome foreigners as their own. However, we cannot and I repeat we cannot allow any foreigner to come and abuse our land to let it go desolate. You were sworn -in to uphold the laws of the land and to defend it against any foreign and internal aggressors. Mr. Mahama, if you can't rule please throw in the towel rather than making indecisive decisions and making unwanted comments.
