It is really true a people deserve the govt they have. Listen to the comments above. When the govt is siphonning state resources in such gargantuan measures into mirage projects while the masses of the people suffer from the lack of basic needs, paid commentators in this forum are spewing senseless folly. When shall we even grow up and seek for our collective interests instead of blindly supporting politicians and defending the indefensible even when the facts are shouting? Terribly Specific and co. seem to twists every logic and blame NPP at every turn, even though this is the 5th continuous year the NDC has been in power. If Ghanaians truely voted this government, then we deserve what we are getting, and shd prepare to get more of it untill we dont even have a drop clean dringking water all-together while the Politicians are growing richer and fatter through their pseudo companies that get every government contract from supplying Laptops, to rearing Guinea Fowls to Planting trees in the desert. In as much as the Ewes have been mislead into committing various acts of atrocities against their fellow Ghanians mainly the Akans and therefore have become the curse of Ghana equally so have the Ashantis become the sorrow of the Akans with the likes of tribalist General Acheampong and kuffuour in their selfish greed and blatant disregard of the welfare of the rest of the non Ashanti Akans . we see the future in a confederation of 5 regions of Ghana with the fanti speaking central and western region being one entity , ashanti region another and the 3 northern regions a third and so on . these same ashanti boys were the ones who brought rawlings in 79 and 81 and today hold the country to ransom because of a conflict with the ewes about how much they could loot and steal from the rest of the nation . this conflict reflects in the perpetual antagonism of the npp and ndc denying us all the right and possibility to develope a country we can all be proud of . if the confederation doesnt work then we should all have the option of going our separate ways. today we see npp and ndc openly quarreling while the gurus continue behind the back door and under the table business as usual plundering the little that is left together with their corrupt civil service , a very sad situation indeed .

NPP/NDC will both overspend during their terms in office. That happens everywhere even in the US! But what I can tell you is, Africa has the natural and human resources to grow the continent. If NPP initiated the building of the N1, but did not complete because they "spent" the budget for it, it doesn't make it ok for NDC not to consider completing the project. What I don't get is if its all God's plan that blacks have the kind of mentality that we do? An Ewe friend of mine said "I am not entering this pub if its owned by an Ashanti", although I am an Ashanti and he knew it. It really broke my heart. I am 30yrs old and highly skilled, leaving abroad, spending my young life with all the energy to the benefit of a country other than my own simply because tribal differences cause people to vote against the party that initiated projects to grow Ghana. If NPP is a bad govt, thats ok. But if you dislike NPP purely based on tribal differences, thats quite sad. I am not even happy staying abroad because I face racism everyday, yet I can live in my country because any good thing I build might get destroyed for tribal and political reasons. :(
