Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. This kind of ex-gratia payments was the culture during colonial times under the British and now we are repeating the same mistakes of ripping off Ghana and milking it dry while teachers and doctors have not been paid for 6 months.
This crazy nutcase of Asare describes the media reports as unfortunate but it is not unfortunate not to have paid the teachers and other workers. Ahat a bufoon.

of course i'm not belittling the work of parliament but even in corporate world, dividends are always based on profit. we are running serious "losses" and "management" can afford to pay themselves such huge sums of salaries and "esb" despite all the bad management decisions being taken day in day out? what about the "shareholders" the citizenry?

the worst thing that can happen to this country at this part point in time is for the citizenry to lose complete faith and confidence in the political class like it is happening now.

i think the word strategy and tact does not work in this country. it is free for all. mr. prez please be careful what is going on under your watch because you may go down as one of the failed presidents of this country. we already have one in your predecessor if you will candidly admit.

Unless you come to understand that all politicians are the same (NPP & NDC) and that they seek their self interest, you'll continue to be fooled. Let's wait and see if the opposition MPs will say anything about the ex-gratia. I bet you some of them have already cashed their monies! I thought our MPs will consider the prevailing harsh economic situation Ghanaian workers are going through, amidst industrial strikes, and say, let's sacrifice (take only half of our ex-grata) so that the government can use part of our ex-gratia to meet the demands of our doctors, teachers, nurses, UTAG, etc. But no, the word sacrifice has disappeared from our politicians' dictionaries, just self interest!! I now know why people will do ANYTHING (Nii Lante, Eric Poku, Baba Jamal, etc) to go to parliament. There is booty, ntwomo, free money there. Not to think of the free 'loans' close to GHS 50,000 to purchase SUVs, monthly allowances, etc, etc. Perhaps let me pack bag and baggage and head for home to aspire to become MP for my constituency in 2016. My constituency chairman confided in me in 2010 when I visited home that they wanted me to stand for MP but I refused due to several commitments I had over here , but I think I need to revisit that issue.Oh, no I have conscience, I won't aspire to go to parliament just for my selfish interest. Some of us have worked outside (not cleaning though, but lecturing in a university) for many years, with all the Masters degrees and PhDs, but we can't claim to have USD 100,000, but just being in Ghana parliament for 4 years will assure you of such a colossal amount. I know all fingers are not the same, there is no justice and fairness in this world.
