Those students who are protesting can refuse to participate. He might not get every student to agree, but it does not matter. Only it should properly planned and well executed to the maximum benefits of the students- they are our future leaders and deserve to be taken care of properly. Bravo Prof, more of those!

And one good thing about this is that, there is food variety and affordability for the students. This is the main reason students have not complained over these years.
Hygiene of food preparation cannot be overlooked. It is therefore important for this aspect to be rectified. However,if centralised feeding is instituted, food variety and affordability must not be lost.

As far as I know, 'the good old days' did not involve students paying anything to be fed; and I heard the food was good. I believe the students are kicking against the idea b'cos of the compulsion to pay. I believe it would be best if they allowed the students to decide where and how they want to eat. Students should have the option to join or opt out of the program. If the food in the cafeteria is good and affordable, more students will buy into it with time. I'm assuming students can still be allowed to cook on their own. I for one hardly bought from 'street vendors'; I almost always ate from my 'kitchen' when I was a student. For me, that was more affordable and healthier but to each his own. Have a great day!

The University lays down the policies and students are expected to abide by them.The University feeding students on campus is the right policy and should stick to it.Students who do not like the policy should advise themselves as to whether they still want to live on campus or not.The university authorities should not allow the students to run the univesity.Allowing students to feed themselves on campus was a big mistake and i applaud the Vice chancellor for terminating it.I was among the first students to experience the 'Feed Yourself Policy' advocated for by students and to me it was the most retrogressive,awful policy.Residential rooms became kitchenettes overnight and students started living on'water diets' to the disavantage of their health.Good job ,Mr Vice Chancellor!!!

This will make the school cleaner and more academic. Sometime when u get to Legon Halls u don,t know as to if u are in a market or on a Uni campus.

But Prof. Make sure the service provider is good and student should save time on cooking and prevent fire out breaks and learn hard for a better Ghana.
