One thing I have realised about the so called Ghanaian intellectuals is that, they do not speak from any moral convictions but rather pontificate and sermonizes about rights and moralities when it aqffects their personal interests.

Kweku Baako, the last standing Ghanaian Journalists with respect is wrong on this issue. He should talk about finding ways to end this plin robbery. What is the morality behind the ex-gratia? Ex-gratia is not a pension or salary. Where in the world can the highest earning Government Employees like MP's receive their salaries, benefits like free housing, soft loans for cars every four years and pension and receive as much as $155,000 every four years as gratuity for doing nothing.

How do you thank people, and that is exactly what ex-gratia is, gratuity, thanking people for doing a good work. Do you think saddling the country with 25 billion dollars in debts should be rewarded as we are doing? Don't forget though that it is only the 230 MP's who will receive this loot, another 100 or so former Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Castle workers are going to receive the same and they will not be told to wait one day longer. See how quick the MP's received this money. Why do our Politicians treat us as if we we two classes of people in Ghana with our Politicians being held to a different standard. Animal farm situation is what we have in Ghana where some animals are held in higher esteem.

People like Alba Bagbin have received this ex-gratia five times and he will get it again in 2017. He has received close to $400,000 since 1996 in ex-gratia alone and Kwaku Baako dooes not see anything wrong with this?

I believe the Doctors, Teachers etch also have the right to what is their due. I from now on would encourage all civil and public servants to go on strike should the Law Makers again increase their salaries begore the next 4 years.

Since the great majority of Ghanaians don’t read or speak French, it is understandable that no one talks about an explosive and incredible money laundering affair developing in Mauritania involving the incumbent president and Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz and an Iraqi resident in Ghana who goes by the name of Usman Alawi.

Set in 2007, the revelations by an embittered Malian citizen Hamed Umar engaged by the Mauritanian president but had not been paid for his service uncover a typical James Bond-like maze suspense in which at least 3 containers of fake American dollars might have passed through the Tema harbor. To be a clerk in Unilever you require a higher qualification and intellectual capability than to be an MP in Ghana. All ONE REQUIRES TO BE AN mp is to be above 21 years , be of sound mind, be a respectable bully or loud mouth but very popular in your area or constituency and bingo the masses will vote for you. There is a pension scheme for all working classes in Ghana called SSNIT(recently split into a 3 tier system) and there is a body that fixes salaries of GOVERNMENT WORKERS CALLED THE fair wages committee or organisation. If POLITICIANS WERE NOT THIEFS WHY ARE THEY NOT FALLING UNDER ANY OF THESE UMBRELLA'S for their pensions and salary grades or levels. How on earth can politicians feel and address pension anomalies or delays if they take their pensions or terminal benefits(i.e ex gratia) from a different source. How can parliamentarians and the presidency ever feel and address issues related to salaries including delays if theirs is not fixed by the recognised fair wages body. I see a lot of cheating going on in this country and to think of it am not sure we have more than 4 million people formally employed in this country(i.e on SSNIT and IRS returns) so why the sloppy management of such a simple matter. Definately am not sure KWAKU BAAKO has the competence to appreciate the anomaly in the way this whole matter is being addressed. There are definately those who are hiding behind the constitution or whatever to CHEAT THE REST. THIS IS NOT FAIR AND THE REASON WHY THE MASSES END UP NOT TRUSTING THE LEADERSHIP. The end result is that any power hungry person taking over the government gets massisve support. It does not easily happen in Europe or America because there is equity and fairness and if the presidents pension is delayed the same applies to the ordinary man on the street! We must always remember that somebody was killed in this country in 1979 for taking a loan of 5000 cedis(not more than 5000 dollars at that time!!!!). Mr President please let democracy work beyond elections, setting up parliament, appointing ministers etc etc!! there is NO EQUITY IN THIS COUNTRY , THE CHEATING IS JUST TOOOO MUCH!!!!
