No one is against the construction of new airport, what people are saying is that Ghana has airport but has no rail system. The appeal is that govt should see to the rail system and airport will carter for itself. Rail will serve the interest of the state better than the airport. So the rail should be constructed first.

No where is it stated that a private company owns part of the airport. Private companies can build and operate but the new idea of PPP is still selling Ghana down the river.

Charles Barwah was the Army Commander in the twilight years of the Nkrumah regime. He died fighting the reactionary forces led by the evil duo of Kotoka and Afrifa who overthrew Nkrumah. His name also deserves to be written in gold.

WE NEED TO GET A U.S COMPANY WITH KNOW HOW TO COME HERE TO GHANA AND BUILD A HUGH AIRPORT THEY THE US HAVE THE SMART , AND THE KNOW HOW AND CAN FINISH A PROJECT LIKE THIS IN 2-3 YEARS WHY MESS WITH CHINA AGAIN

So why must it be situated in only Greater Accra, why not somewhere else like Cape Coast, Takoradi, Kumasi, Tamale or Sunyani? is Accra the only region in Ghana? our people must think atleast for once.

Please you are being out of context. A country can have more than one international airport. Look at a small country like belgium has 4 international airport, Nigeria has 2 international airport. Why not Ghana?

so forget Tamale and even tho my father-inlaw is in B/a it takes too long to go back to accra...upgrade sunyani and kumasi with lights and weather radar and instruments but the main airport must be in accra,,Just like america ...

It would be far cheaper to build a new airport than to expand and rehabilitate the existing one. The cost of relocating the existing entities alone would be prohibitive.

Last year, Dauda refused a private group ready to build a state of the art international airport at Kumasi. This year the same NDC government is entertaining the idea of a PPP for airports? The so called partners may be the usual NDC group and Mahama's boys.

A bullet train from Accra to the border with Burkina Faso will be more helpful than this airport. Accra ==> Koforidua ==> Nkawkaw ==> Kumasi ==> Sunyani ==> Tamale ==> Bolgatanga ==> BORDER TOWN. Just imagine these coming from this new mode of transportation:

1. Job creation for a lot of the youth. Stations will be built, our young ladies and men will be employed by the railway company.

2. Fewer accidents and faster travel

3. Shorter time to get farm produce to the markets

4. Ease of extra load on our roads by Burkinabe imports through Tema.

4. Government realizes more revenues from Burkina Faso's imports through Ghana.

5. Ghana can get rid of those dilapidated trucks choking our roads.

The bullet train network will then be extended to other regional centers. This is what we need NOT a new AIRPORT. Watch judgment debts...we will very soon hear about those.
