(SOURCE) JOY ONLINE:------------------------------The National Democratic Congress has more than doubled Ghana’s debt in four years but it has very little or nothing to show for it, New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Obuasi, Kweku Kwarteng, has said.

According to him, after government increased Ghana’s debt from $8 billion dollars in 2009 to $17 billion in 2012; after enjoying oil proceeds, the first government in Ghana’s history, after enjoying windfalls in cocoa prices and gold prices the only evidence NDC has to show for these huge inflows are power cuts, water crisis, gas shortages and unemployment.

The Obuasi MP said his constituents have for over ten months not had water flow through their taps and there has not been any official explanation for it.

He said the whole country has been plunged into darkness with government sources and spokespersons providing contradictory dates as to when the power cuts will come to an end.

He made these assertions on MultiTV and Joy FM’s news analysis programme Newsfile on Saturday.

What is worse, Kweku Kwarteng added, the country is operating a huge budget deficit of $8.7 billion up from $6.6 billion in 2008 but with nothing to show for the expenditure.

He said whilst the citizenry are suffering, government and other state institutions are blowing the country’s money through unnecessary overspending.

According to him, the presidency alone over spent over GHC600 million without consulting Parliament.

Kweku Kwarteng also accused the government of completely running down the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) with the view to privatising it and has failed to account for the TOR recovery levy which was imposed by the NPP to offset the TOR debt incurred as a result of subsidy on fuel prices.

Anyway,blame Catholic John Kufuor for engaging in a reconciliation exercise instead of visiting justice on the notorious dirty criminals(ndc).

That error of judgement on the part of John Kufuor emboldened these hard-core criminals and strengthened their resolve to rob the nation and Ghanaians with unprecendented zeal.

I saw a documentary where a white woman from Canada had her container seized and custom officials end up ransacking everything in the container.
I feel for you and I bet this is done dangerous ewes seeking to torment every successful akan in Ghana. I have said this over and over again, Ghana is indeed sitting on a time bomb.
unless all those criminals are brought to justice, one day the country will fall like Rwanda.
Trust you me, by the time his container is released to him, he had refuse/trash in it and that is Ghana for you.
I had wanted to go and open businesses in Ghana but their dirty mind divert my investments to South Africa. Not perfect but at least they have no such mind of filth.

This is what I glean from the 'story': it is possible he has no funds to clear the goods and wanted the goods to be cleared on credit and for him to pay later...hence his 'association' with those 'in-power' in order to have a free-ride which did not materialise. Please note that in Ghana power can be in the hands of anyone at a given time - e.g. kayaye and kayayos have power over your goods if you cannot carry the goods yourself. So security guards at the Port who may be NDC / or NPP could say I can get the goods cleared for you by top NDC/NPP officials even when it is obvious to you and me (not this dumb Dominic A-K businessman) that they cannot.

Let's take a closer look at his story: 14 containers: 24 cars, 420 laptops, 750 sounds systems, 1800 mattresses and 1000 used tires; and the total value is a mere $163,000?
You would have to be incredibly stupid to believe this man's story. I believe that the true story will soon come out from CEPS in the next few days.
More importantly, why is this man not in court, suing CEPS for illegal seizure of his goods? After all the courts should be quite sympathetic to him; his name is Akufo Addo.

A Houseman asked me if I was related to a Minister(name withheld) and I answered that I had not met the man before so I could not be sure whether somewhere along the lines (extended family), we may be related. My answer was not what was expected by this supposed Houseman and so he, thinking may be I was related to the Minister , came to my ward after a few days to change the slinge which fixed in my arm to administer intravenouse drips to me and he nearly broke the needle in my arm spilling some of my blood on himself. He hurt me so much that I almost yell at him but then again I remembered where I was. His main reason was the name is not common and "peculiar" to me and the minister alone, therefore. So I believe this man if he is being maltreated. I have read so many articles in the various online news since the Elections and the subsequent Petition and one can read between the two Party members that they are NOT really using their heads at all. And we the rest of the Citizens are held in ransom and suffering for no reason.Where does these stop.
