Govt cannot run any business efficiently. Politics and cronisym always get in the way. Show me one Govt enterprise that is well managed. VRA? GIHOC? ECG?

We remember how it all began.It was the young and enigmatic Rawlings and his June Fourth Movement who raised the red flag against the Limann led PNP administration when it became obvious they intended to promote the privatization/divestiture of State Owned Enterprises. Rawlings and his JFM contended that the move was a conspiracy between the administration and Bretton Woods institutions to sell the birthright of ghanaians to foreign interest.
By the end of Rawlings constitutionally mandated tenure as President in 2000 the PNDC and its successor administrations NDC 1 & 2 had managed to divest 304 out of 406 State Assets,citing unprofitability among the mundane reasons for the action. Caridem bought Nsawam Cannery but they were sponsored by Nana Konadu and her 31 DWM. How about that? It's very ironic and noteworthy that the so called rot (from mid 1980s to mid 1990s) that culminated the annihilation of these SOEs was under Rawlings watch and I believe was engineered by Rawlings and his kleptocrats for their selfish gain. To date they've not been able to account for the moneies accruing from the stinking policy . Same MO ! Give it a bad name and get rid of it.
I'm no adherent of the policies of the socialists or social democrats(whatever that means) but I believe setting up the Tema Oil Refinery was a great idea by visionary Nkrumah. I think privatizing it today is a bad idea. It was intended to be a chicken that'd lay our golden eggs. What happened to all the SOEs sold for peanuts by Rawlings? Most evaporated into thin air. Are we going to sit down for these same people (NDC) to run down TOR just to give the pretext or rationale for its privatization and sell it to their cronies or to themselves for peanuts? Not again !
Government can run business efficiently.A noble disposition is not a thing of favor or chance but it's the natural result of continued effort in right thinking and a bestial and ignoble disposition is the result of continued harboring of evil thoughts. If the present NDC administration cannot run one state owned enterprise, TOR, efficiently, then that's the indication they cannot run the entire machinery of state efficiently. What more proof do we need ? We don't need to get rid of TOR. It's the NDC bad administration that we need to get rid of.
