  Although little information is shed on the circumstances surrounding the rationale for what seems to be Justice William Boampong's heavy-handedness on the convicted offender, nine years imprisonment for unlawful entry and stealing is a bit too harsh. Given the offender's young age – 21 year, other alternatives such as suspended sentence, probation, restitution, community service, etc. should have been seriously considered instead of a jail term. Custodial sentences or imprisonments are not only a drain to the national coffers; they also tend to be ineffective in terms of reforming lawbreakers.

  Yep, he deserve some punishment, but nine years in prison for a 21y/o is outrageous. Politicians who continue to steal massive funds only get a slap on the hand.

  If the boy did not rob at gun point, and is a first offender, 9 years jail term is too harsh. We allow the big thieves to go free and punish the small ones.
