Soon as looting by Asongtaba under the guise of SADA is exposed by an upstanding NPP MP, other NPP members come out to vouch for the "integrity" of the perpetrators of this scam even before any conclusive investigations are done, thereby giving these scammers a certain gloss of legitimacy.

Soon as the issue of ex-gratia is raised, NPP members come out to defend this insensitive practice.

As a firm believer in the principles underlining the NPP tradition, I am greatly disillusioned by how low we have sunk, enough to dine with these bottom-feeding NDC kleptomaniacs who have absolutely no care in the world about the welfare of the average Ghanaian.

Every single social intervention the NPP introduced has become a cash cow for NDC apparatchiks who loot without any mercy or limit. You name it, MASLOC, NHIS, School Feeding, LEAP...

It's about time Ghanaians start feeling like we are on their side again. NPP, wake up!!!

VENTURES AFRICA - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has warned Ghana’s government that the country’s growth could be stifled because of the rising public debt.

This was one of the key issues raised by the IMF mission led by Christina Daseking to conduct discussions for the 2013 Article IV consultations on Friday 12th April, 2013.

According to the IMF, Ghana government’s excessive domestic borrowing is also raising the cost of credit to the private sector, a key growth constraint in Ghana.

Average interest rates in Ghana ranges between 21 to 24 percent which key advocates like the Private Enterprises Federation (PEF), Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) among others have complained about over the years.

Ghana’s total public debt, at the end of December 2012, stood at $18,832.77 million, equivalent to 49.4% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and this is up from $15,350.08 million.

The IMF also cautioned that the ballooning wage bill, if untamed, would bring debt to levels that could endanger the government’s transformation agenda. This is largely because of a new pay policy in Ghana (Single Spine Salary Structure), which has put enormous pressure on the public purse. All the public sector workers have been migrated onto the new pay policy and salary levels have gone as a result.

In 2012, the wage bill rose by 47 percent.

The mission urged government to gain control over the wage bill. It recommended a thorough audit of the 2012 payroll and welcomes that the government has already started this process.

The IMF mission projects a reduction in the fiscal deficit to 10 percent of GDP this year, about 1 percent higher than the budget projections, assuming a delayed adjustment in utility tariffs.

Something needs to be done to awaken the conscience of the MPs assuming they had gone slumber. How could an MP demand the payment before doing a work that they are obliged and not required to do? This is sheer robbery and rape of Mother Ghana and I can see Mother Ghana bleeding profusely; no doubt the hospitals are always short of blood. Is that how to build a nation?

We have those who are there to steal from government, we also have those who are there to steal and at the same time are drug dealers, while others are there just like mafias of Ghana. So, if such people are made to represent the nation, how do you think the country will move forward? Lets put it into categories. NDC MPs for instance are there to steal or engage in heavy corruptions, for NPPs, they are there to engage themselves in super corruption by setting history of stealling, while at the same time engage in drug activities by using their positions to forward their agenda. At the same time, NPP MPs are there to promote hateful, gang activities like terorries type of violence in all aspect of daily life in Ghana and beyond. When it comes to the rest of MPs, they are there to steal while at the same time fill stomach of their family members by using dubious ways at all cost.
Now, at the end of the day, are there politicians in the parliment? ask why? because the people in Ghana are not patrotics and at the same time majority of them are Akans who are there to keep the history of their corrupt activies alive with some other tribes. So, the time has come for Ghanaians to come into their sense if they can to eliminate all this type of humans that we have in our society.

According to the eminent scholar Professor Ali Mazuri, in the era of Kwame Nkrumah a young and zealous auditor came out with a report that showed corruption in some state institutions. The boss of the young auditor looked at the report and laughed and told the young man that Kwame Nkrumah by getting us independence had killed a very big elephant(Not NPP Elephant)and that it was the duty of each citizen to chop part of the carcass to enjoy with their families. I dismissed this as untrue but my experiences since then do confirm what the Professor said. Do the MPs sleep soundly after making the state incur such avoidable cost of meeting at such expensive places when they could easily have had it their respective conference rooms? Do they think of Ghana and its people? Does money alone make a person a person?
