  If government pay their utility bills there will be no case. I am even assuming some Ministers don't pay as well for domestic usage.

  Politically, they can't increase the utility rates since they recently increased the fuel prices. It would be political suicide to do so. However, give them another 3 months or so, and you'll see the prices will increase by 20%.
  
  I love how they keep on saying the IMF is telling them to remove the subsidy from utility prices. What really is the IMF saying? I've read that they wanted the subsidy off fuel but I'm not sure if they've said anything about utility prices. The propagandists are wanting to lay the groundwork and the excuse that it's not the government that wants to increase the utility rates, but the big, bad IMF. They shouldn't increase the rates until all government agencies, including police barracks, military, prison barracks, etc, start paying for electricity and the huge loss in distribution (likely due to illegal connections) is addressed.

  Why is it that the consumer is the first choice for the utilities when it comes generating more income? Is it because the consumer is weak in putting up a challenge?
  In many instances the utility companies have been advised to improve on their efficiencies but this has always fallen on deaf ears.
  This is an indication that our leaders do not have our interest at heart when they are seeking our support and mandate. When you care about somebody , you least want to hurt that person. But the consumer is always the target of injury.
  We have become copy and paste, we are not thinking like Nkrumah who were able to think beyond their time. I have never heard any leader of our time say '' I want to surpass Osagyefo'' in deeds and words. We are just copy and paste in our leadership. It is tme for our people to stop the parochial thinking and begin to look for real leaders who will change our circumstances. Otherwise, we shall keep the mark-time.
