Your assertion that Justice Crabbe drafted the Preventive Detention Act was well off the mark. The PDA was the idea of Georfrey Bing, former British Labour Party Member of Parliament, who was Nkrumah's appointee as Attorney General soon after Ghana's Independence in 1957. Your contribution to the elder Statesman's article is a glaring example of what is wrong with people like you in Ghana some of whom find themselves in the Ghana Parliament. Please give Justice Crabbe a break for he has not sold his conscience but rather trying to call the attention of Ghanaians of what is wrong with society.

Periodic elections are not the recipes to sustain democracy. But rather a Constitution. Ghana's democratic experiment is now polarized and it seems to be failing because the 1992 Constituion is not good enough to sustain our democracy. We need to critically examine it and rewrite a new one that will truly give power to the people but not this loose and irresponsible legislature and imperial presidency. Remember the Constitution was crafted under a military regime that did not care to relinquish power to a constutional government. Consultational body made up of some few cronies of that military regime put together the current constitution. 1969, 1979 constitutions respectively were written by a Constituent Assembly. Ghanaians truely elected individuals from the constituencies to form that Assembly to genuinely crafted that constitutions of 1969 and 1979. We need to write an entirely new constitution at this peace time!

this political groupings the up/pp/npp brought untold hardships on our country. they started this unpatriotic attitude since the days of kwame nkrumah. since these nation wreckers came into our mist, the progress of the country had seriously been damaged by them/ when they succeded in ousting kwame nkrumah in connivance with the cia, they criminalized any body who was seen to be sympathetic towards the cpp. they even put some of the cpp activists in a mobile cage and drove them like zoo animals through out the principal streets of accra. in 2001, after k4 was declared the winner of the elections, his ashanti/akyem mafias behaved as if there had been a coup detat in the country. the late prof attah mills after winning the 2008 elections, tried to unite the country so that polarisation brought into the country by k4 and npp, will be a thing of the past but he was met with all kinds of insults from the npp until he gave up the ghost in dec 2012. if we have these destructive characters in our country, how can one expect to see unity in the country?. they always want to get what mother ghana can give them and not what they can give to ghana mother!

This assertion embodies a lot of thinking for us to digest. Even within thevvillages whereby inhabitants use not to care about political issues and what it brings to their daily livelihood, today brings a different interpretation of social achievements when you vote or campaign vigorously for a political party that turns up being the winner.
