Just before the Deputy Minister-designate was vetted, Chairman of the Appointments Committee Ebo Barton Odro appealed to members to ask just a few questions to enable the nominee to leave quickly.

“Honourable members, as you can see, the Deputy Minister-designate is heavily-pregnant and should therefore not be made to sit here for long,” the chairman said.

Answering a question posed by Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa as to how she would advise owners of pets, like cats and dogs, to take good care of them because such pets could be a ‘delicacy’ for some ethnic groups, Dr. Bissiw, in a composed manner, narrated her own experience.

She said she had a beautiful cat as a pet but the cat ended up in someone’s soup because she did not take very good care of it.

“Mr. Chairman as a young girl, I had a beautiful kitten as my cherished pet, but there were some young men in our house who sometimes took the pet and fed it till the kitten grew into a fat cat. But one day my cat was no where to be found, so I asked the young men in my house whether the cat had come to them and the answer was that if I could only split their stomachs open, I will find the cat there; meaning they had killed and eaten the cat,” she narrated.

The Asantehene is one I respect but the circumstances under which the gold was stolen was questioonable and needed to be criticized. Even some of his own sub chiefs were not happy. I have lived in ashanti region for a very long time but he is not my overlord. I recognize him as a very important king in Ghana. Does it mean I should keep mute when he has to be criticized. Those days belong to yesteryears. Take it that I don't know what critical thinking is but many people including me see him as a stomach journalist who just want to be always heard even if he knows little or nothing about a topic. Read over comments people have written about his posting that the Chief Justice erred. Why would he dabble in areas he is not well versed in?

A critical thinker would have properly analyzed what he said and point out to him the faults in his assertion.
Did you conduct a research to find out that some of the sub chiefs of the Great Asantehene were not happy with him when he was burgled? How many did you interview and what was the percentage that was against him? What was your methodology? Did you mean you had lived in the Ashanti region for a long time, which means you are no more there, or you are telling us you still live in the Ashanti region "I have lived in Ashanti region for a very long time"? You were described in this forum as a history major student of UCC. If that is correct, then I find it extremely difficult assigning your misconduct to the bin of twilight history. You are playing into the court of Kwasi P. His beef was that, it is only the court in session that can review and revise its decision. Meaning the CJ not being part of the panel could not issue an administrative fiat to override what the court in session had decided.

Kwasi Pratt reminds me of the Biblical Pharisees who rose against Jesus for healing a sick person on a Sabath Day. So like Jesus said; man was not made for the Sabath Day, the Supreme Court was made for Ghanaians but not the other way round. If majority of Ghanaians are in support of the live telecast, what can the Supreme Court do? The interest of majority reigns higher than that of the Supreme court.

I mean what school did he attend. The live telecast of this case is a good idea because for me it allows us to know the truth from the horses mouth and not by these communicators on radios. From what we have witnessed so far, it has come to light that most of the things Asiedu Nketia used to say after court proceedings are all propaganda. So let Kwasi sit somewhere and edit his newspaper. The CJ reviewed the justices decision to allow live broadcast but this decision does not mean she is going to review the judgment that will be passed the judges. Kwasi watch out

You contradict yourself. This was an administrative matter, and the CJ has every right to over-rule it, if she believes that it is in the interest of the people of Ghana. It has also saved the situation where some party thugs would have congregated around the Supreme Court, to ferment trouble.

Now the whole world can see who the thieves and idiots in Ghana are. Dr Bawumia insisted consitently that although there could be more than one exhibit for a polling station, it was only counted ONCE for each infraction. Any primary school child understands this, but Tony Lithur wasted 2 hours just repeating it ad infinitum. Next time I need a lawyer in Ghana, I know who I will not hire.

The whole world now knows that there was over-voting, ghost polling stations and unqualified voters. Shame on all you thieves and crooks.

Having appointed the panel and entrusted them with this case, the Chief Justice should allow the panel to take its own decisions as to how the case should be conducted within the confines of the law, and legal precedent.

Telecasting hearings live puts the judges under added pressure, as the court becomes a public spectacle. Besides, it has a detrimental effect on the economy as workers will watch proceedings rather than work.

Rather than live broadcasts,the proceedings could have been recorded and broadcast at night when most people would be at home.
