If Nana Addo decides not to stand again, and I suspect he won't, it will be an interesting race between Bawumia and Alan 2016 and beyond. This is the only way the NPP decides on its leadership. After all has been said and done in the matter, it all boils down to numbers should the Court rule that the alleged violations took place. I would have thought that the NDC would consider a Statistician as one of its witnesses. It is, however, obvious that they do not get the import of the case and with Sam Yalley making these comments, they surely do not get it.

You read Asiedu Nketiah's response and you see how amateurish it is. They appear to accept that there were errors in over 8400 pink sheets but that they were patent clerical errors. They fail to show how else the figures could have been entered to show how the errors could have been committed. They are talking about 337 duplications without showing how these affected the numbers. In short, they have fought shy of the analysis that their claims demand.

This is demoncracy and it is costly and so it does not matter how much it cost, we as a nation should bear it if it comes to that. I believe at the end of the day, there will be a winner and the losing party will have to accept it despite how far the government has been in power and this will write a history in the nation.

The song was also the soundtrack in Sylvester Stallon's blockbuster movie:ROCKY. Much as I hate the lyrics of the song,I find myself thinking more about it anytime I get to read articles and commentaries on Ghanaweb that are laced with politico-tribal bigotry and all the ugly name calling that goes with it.

Recently the political landscape in Ghana has been dominated by this election fraud issue and the court case that came as a result. I think that unless the judges in particular and Ghanaians in general exercise some good judgement in this matter, we could be in for an ugly and destructive nation on our hands.

Now let's reason in this context for for a minute, just for the sake of a debate, let's assume that the judges rule in favour of either NPP or NDC I think there would still be serious discontent because both sides already have their own prejudged positions. On the other hand if there was a re-run to pick a new president the result of it will also not be satisfactory. Just imagine for a moment what kind of strive the removal of the sitting president and all his ministers and ambassadors will bring and you will understand me. Can you also imagine the kind of agitations, demonstrations and other social and political upheavals that it will bring? But justice needs to be served, so what should we do?

I have been thinking that the best way for us as a nation to maintain our sanity socially, economically and politically is only through a collective compromise of POWER SHARING between the two parties. My suggestion is that instead of litigation there should rather be negotiation between the parties so that the current president and his administration will rule for ONLY four years and hand over to NPP to also rule for four years to complete the presidential term in 2016. Once the presidential term is completed neither John Mahama nor Nana Akuffo Addo should be allowed to contest for the presidency any more. Ghanaians will then have the choice of picking a new president and hopefully there will be a fraudless election that will keep the peace and prosperity in continuity. I know this may not be as easily accomplished as written here but the alternative could be untold ugliness and a destructive political, economic and social life for all of us.
