I would ask the gioverbnment to ask the doctors to go back to work .Any one that defies the order automatically looses his credentials as a Doictor and would not be recognised as such.
Enough is enoufgh.When soldiers take the gun because of the stupidity of the rulers we say they are not good.See, what doctors who are trained with the tax payers money, are doing now simply because they are being instigated to defame the government.

It is the government job to find ways to stop corruption but this government and previous ones have turned a blind eye because they are all dirty. Our doctors, nurses,teachers, cocoa farmers, market women, fishermen etc deserve better. Hard work must be rewarded and crime must be punished.

I do not know if withdrawing the credentials of the striking doctors will solve the problem. There is an acute shortage of doctors in Ghana and if that happens, more people are going to die. What Government needs to do is to stop the foolish idea of hiring only Ghana doctors and hire other qualified foreign doctors to come into the country to work as expatriates. America and European countries do not depend solely on their own doctors alone. They hire doctors from other countries and as a result there is no shortage of doctors in these countries. Any country in Africa that depends solely on her own doctors alone is bound to fail. Many of our doctors and university graduates are lazy when they get government jobs. They think they are special simply because they have university degrees even though they cannot perform well on their jobs. What government needs to do is to hire people solely based on their skills and their qualifications rather their nationality. To hell with nationality if they cannot perform.

Rights go with responsibilities. You can resolve your wage demands through negotiation. Strike action will lead to unnecessary fatalities which cannot be blamed on government. You doctors treat patients, government does not.

If you think you cannot continue to work in the public sector, nothing prevents you from moving to private practice. This would be infinitely better than holding the whole nation to ransom pursuing strike action.

Please put the interest of the nation above your narrow personal interests.

Let the president, MPs and other appointees set the example by slashing their salaries and foregoing their fat ESB, rent allowance and other perks. The rest shall all follow suite. It is our politicians who do nothing but have been so much pampered to the extent that their salaries can be doubled overnight, and given fat rent allowances. Tell me what these MPs really do that nobody can do? Under Papa Jerry during PNDC era, did we have MPs at that time? Yet we survived. Why can't the gov't pay what is due the Doctors but pay MPs ESBs? Answer that.

These problems did not start overnight so the gov't should have handled them many months ago. As at now, UTAG, NAGRAT,GNAT and TEWU are working but are also watching. Mahama needs to be smart here. If possible, he should contact Rawlings and Kuffour and learn how this is really handled instead of his appointees and those who need jobs insulting the aggrieved Doctors.
Okai, Humans everywhere are political. Doctors are political and there can be many NDC Doctors who have joined the strike. So, stop giving the strike a political dimension.

Doctors in Ghana are salaried and some of them work for about 60 hours a week, seeing over 80 patients. How much do you think they deserve as compared to MPs and politicians? Why have some MPs and other politicians who are Doctors abandon the profession?

AND MAY GHANA WIN AGAIN.
ITS NO MORE ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT( EVENTHOUGH I BELIEVE EVERYTHING RISES AND FALLS ON LEADERSHIP), GMA, UTAG, GOV. PHARMACISTS, GRNA, THE JUDICIAL SERVICE AND THE REST.BUT CLEARY SATAN AT WORK.
I PRAY THIS AGITATIONS WOULD NOT TRAVEL BEYOUND THIS WEEK LEST WE FALL INTO SCHEMES OF THE DEVIL.
I AM A HEALTH PROFESSIONAL WORKING IN A VERY CRITICAL AREA IN KORLE BU WITH YEARS OF WORKING EXPERIENCE AT THE GOVERNENT HEALTH FACILITIES AT THE DISTRICT LEVEL.
I CAN ASSURE THAT NO MATTER WHAT MEASURES GOVERNMENT INITIATES TO MITIGATE THE IMPACT OF STRIKE BY GMA, SATAN WILL DRINK OUR BLOOD IN THE COMING DAYS IF URGENT MEASURES ARE NOT TAKEN TO AVERT THIS IMPENDING TRAGEDY AND THE BLOOD OF ALL INNOCENT SOULS WOULD BE REQUIRED OF US AS A NATION. MAY WE THEREFORE NOT GIVE UP IN PRAYING FOR THE NATION AND MAY STOP CURSING OUSELSVES AND PLAYING THE BLAME GAME. WE SHOULD ALSO REMEMEBER UTAG, GOV. PHARMAC ISTS AND ALL CVIL GROUPS IN GHANA?.

Even the Geneva convention protects doctors and other healthcare provident in war because it is essential for everyone even if those doctors are not paid. Let us wait till then and we will see what a greed bunch they are.

To the doctors I will say this: the work we do is special and important to society. That is why we get the respect that is automatically accorded us any where we go. Have you not been asked the question “are you a medical doctor or a PhD” when you are introduced to someone? That question belies a sense of awe. This respect is universal; all over the world. This respect has been built on the sacrifice, the hard work and the dedication of the millions of our predecessor doctors who practiced the craft with respect for life, excellence, ethics and morality. We destroy that respect at our own peril and the peril of doctors to come. We cannot and should not diminish the specialness of our profession. Our patients will fight our fights with, or even for, us if they know we are on their side, as we should. We should not consider them collateral damage. Remember we went to school for a long time and some of our classmates, who were as smart as we were, also went to school for as long (e.g. architects). Yet if you are with your architect friend in a group I bet you will receive, with all due respect to architects everywhere, more admiration. This is because of what we do. We have a sacred duty to our profession and to our patients. Let us honor it.

So I come to a question a young colleague asked me recently: “So what are we to do when the government is not paying us what it has agreed to? The government says it has no money yet it is paying judgment debts and ex-gratia awards”. My answer is this: first dissociate your situation with the government from these other issues of judgment debt and ex-gratia. It is these emotional associations which confuse the picture. The problem is straight forward: you have an employer who, for whatever reason, has failed to give you what you perceive as your due. You do what any employee should do. As I have said above you can go to court; failing that, leave the employment and find an alternative employment. Go into private practice. I am quite certain that if a group of young doctors decide to go into private practice and set up a well-run, patient centered hospital where they provide the most excellent and affordable care they will be successful and attract investors. The market demand for excellent private medical institutions competing fairly with government institutions, even in the towns and villages, is large.

Strikes are not the best way for doctors to resolve their issues. I believe that it is wrong and detrimental to the profession.
