He says nhe has been discussing with the Ghana state's forces of law and order to try and end it in the sdtate, to no avail. Sad.

But what would an Okyenhene of the past have done? He would have revived the ASAFO groups in his state and charged them with the DUTY of patrolling their lands and preventing these galamsey marauders from ruining trhem.

The Okyeman has an enviable record of organising itself for self-defence along TRADITIONAL LINES. It has the Amantuor Mmiensa, Nifa, Benkum, Oseawuo, Kyidom and Andoten Divisions among others. The Abontendomhen of Kyebi is the one who "forms the armies" in the capital itself, I believe.

My humbkle suggestion to the Etwie or Leopard (Okyenhen) is "Don't wait fore the decaying Ghanaian State to save Okyeman from Galamsey!" Call a special state council meeting to see how each of these traditional divisions can reorganise its Asafo/Kyirem Group. Let them reorganise and conduct "exercises" as they used to do in ancient times.

As soon as the galamsey operators realise that the people are serious, no-one will tell them to run. They will run away themselves.

How can the Okyenhen be sitting at Kyebi and watching MARAUDERS destroy the sacred Birem River and others? Which nation can exist without clean drinking water? Has the Okyenhen ever heard the song: Yen ara asaase ni.... mmongya na Nananom hwie gu nya de too ho maa yen; adu mene wo nso so se yebeyi bi atoa so?"

NOBODY has the right to ask a people to commit collective suicide. If Okyeman does not act quickly -- and under the Okyenhens guidance and lkd=eadesrhip, the state will commit collective suicide. And Amoatia's name will or ever be as dirty as the galamsey mud that is silting up the Birem.

How can the Okyenhen sit unmoved when deep pits that were dug by the galamsey murderers are killing school children.
