If the Govt love the lives of Ghanaians, why would they pay bonuses and leave salaries in arrears unpaid? Stop being emotional and think as a human being. Someone had worked for almost one year now, a teacher, on Govt payroll and hasn't been paid, yet, Mahama and his cronies go round to share computers, cars and senseless bonuses. You can choose to insult the Drs., first, insult the Govt. for going into any agreement with them. Stupid Desooso is calling for Cuban Drs. If they are sensible and love Ghanaians, why won't that money to be spent on Cuban Drs. be used to pay the striking Drs.? Our stupidity is beyond the clouds. Imagine the cost of one Cuban Dr. in Ghana..flight cost, accommodation, salary, incentives, car and chauffeurs, fuel, etc. WHY ARE WE SOOOO STUPID?

I don't blame them but the government for paying them while on strike, the strike can stop or may not even happen if members of that group know that they will not get paid if they follow those wicked 19 members in the leadership of the group which is imposing their will on them.
How on earth can just 19 politicians calling themselves doctors decide for hundreds if not thousands of people.

These people have every right to go on strike but that decision should be a collective one by members of the association but not just the so called 19 leaders serebour wants us to believe and they don't have to get paid for the number of days they are out of work as done in civilized countries, you don't get paid by your employer while you are on strike.

We are not saying people should not get what they deserve but the political strikes in Ghana especially since Mr mahamah became president is senseless and need to stop and if the government can listen to some of us we will recommend things that can minimize these strikes and labor will learn how to negotiate instead of strikes.

Corney, many people do not want Doctors to go on strike but the problem is with Mahama and the MPs. The moment he doubled the salaries of MPs, gave them that 50,000 GH cedis for rent allowances, I knew that strikes were going to start. Corney, where in the world are MPs who are well paid have their salaries doubled? Except Ghana. That is why everybody wants to be an MP now. But can we all become MPs? Mahama should have learnt something from the Kenyan president who refused to yield to demands for increased salary and ESBs by MPs.
The government made some promises to the Doctors and that is what they are demanding.
Doctors have to be paid while on strike. That should not be done but if some MPs boycott parliament and are paid, so should other workers. Anyway, if he decides not to pay striking Doctors, some of them have private clinics and will not affect them much. Some Doctors also attend to the rich in their homes and get paid big money. It is the poor and the needy who will suffer.
When strikes are about to start, Mahama gets to know it very early but does nothing to prevent it. Look at this GNAT and NAGRAT strike. Everybody saw iy coming but Mahama sat down and did not address the situation until it started.

Why would the Govt enter any agreement at all if it cannot meet it? Once agreements are reached, it becomes their right to press for it. Govt has failed Ghanaians by agreeing to what he cannot afford. Where is the SSSS? Why should some sectors be put on it and others not? Right from Presidency to labourors, all must be on SSSS. There will be no qualms anymore. If Parliamentarians' salaries were to be owed by Govt, would they go to work? Because that my not directly kill anybody, nobody will complain. If the Drs are demanding too much, why should the Govt agree at all? All these starts all the way from Medical Schools in this country. If you don't pay bribe or come from certain homes, hardly would be admitted to Medical Schools in this country. If afterwards, you are not from strong homes, you are sent to villages than the regional capitals. These are the people who careless when patients are dying. These are the children of the so called ministers and corrupt officials in this country. The chickens have come home to roost on us. We have dug these graves since Busia times, and it is time for us to burry ourselves in them.

I bet everyone, all the doctors we have now didn't go to school to come out and save lives as expected of them, rather they went to school to come out to make monies for themselves. If you are sick and you go to hospital don't think you will get a doctor to help you nowadays even when they return, rather you will get money makers to attend to you. Unlike previous days where we had doctors who were committed and ready to save lives irrespective of the amount received every month.

Oh yes. Like in every profession in every country, there are excellent professionals, mediocre ones, and bad ones. This applies also to cuban doctors. Quite a few of the good ones are practicing in America.
