  It is about time we Africans quit playing the victims and started taking greater and collective responsibility for our well being. We should stop being responsive and start being more proactive. In Ghana since majority of the populace are christians or moslems and given the great reverence we place on our pastors and imams we should start seeing them as the more effective information ministers. The fight to change attitudes should start from the pulpits and the mosques. Pastors and imams should use the first few minutes of their services to educate their congregation about social issues including the need to clean our surroundings to prevent various diseases, desisting from littering with empty pure water sachets and other waste, preventing stagnant water accummulation to name a few. This will be a most cost effective and practical way to address many of our social problems including the menance of malaria.

  I am not sure the one who puts up posts here checks on his posts after he is done. i have commented several times but seems no one notices. whenever you put up a scientific finding or publication it is important you put the reference or a link to the original article so we can always refer and read the article.
  
  having said that malaria will remain a challenge until we take the bull by the horns, african leaders are just lazy and dont want to take up challenging situations. any vaccine for malaria will not be in the next 50years and we will still struggle with drug resistance its time we decided on eradicating malaria completely and start working towards it.

  NOT UNTIL Africans get it into their BRAINS that making the ENVIROMENT LESS ATTRACTIVE TO MOSQUITOES,eg no more open gutters,no more throwing of plastic bags and bottles indiscrinately around,and on the whole NO MORE BREEDING GROUNDS for mosquitoes,NO importation of ttreated mosquito-nets,repellants,will do the job!!WE should be MORE RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR WELL BEING!!!!!

  Use Avon's skin so soft or drink tonic water( gin and tonic) those are natural repellants to mosquitoes and seem to stop the malaria.
