The immediate question is; how did the dead man come to sign his own personal tribute, since he is already in heaven?

SOMEBODYS ERROR MUST NOT AFFECT SOMEBODYS PRESIDENCY
Having listened and read proceeding from the court, Truth must be told. NPP’s case is a bogus one that has no merit. It is a case of a sour loser trying to hang onto the last straw. I would be ashamed of myself if any of those contesting the election were my family.
The three areas NPP hyped as avenue for fraud have all been abandoned
1. That on December 8 2012 whilst provisional results were being declared and voting was going on in some polling station, it came to the notice of the petitioners that a company, STL was receiving collated provisional results from polling stations before transmitting it to the second respondent's strong room. Now abandoned
2. The nonexistence of 22 polling station in the declared EC’s 26002 (Ghost polling station is also abandoned. Now abandoned
3. The padding of Mahama’s results ie reducing vote gained by Nana and adding to JM. Now abandoned
Now this has pathetically reduced to three which borders on technicality, the issue which the court will decide.
1. unsigned pink sheet and Same serial numbers
2. voting without biometric verification
3. Over voting.
It should be noted that this applied only in areas JM won. Where is the justice then NPP is howling about. The areas where Nana won with similar issues were disregarded a typical example is where Bawumia voted which the EC wanted to tender in evidence. It is laughable to see how petitioners are struggling to defend this. Bawumia is coached to confine his answers within 3 areas
1. My lord, it is in the face of the pink sheet
2. My lord, One was electronically generated and one was manual
3. But I can assure you my lord, only one was used in the analysis
But thanks God the judges are discerning. The petitioners with all their men, degrees (including master statiscian ) had 21 days to submit their petition to the SC and yet when they were ready they produce a mediocre and shallow report which will not pass for SSS student. Petition was porous, poor in argument, weak in mathematics. They had to rely on the magnanimity of the court after 3 month and in amended petition to put their petition right.
With the caliber of personnel at election centers some having as low as JSS qualification, nursery teachers, Pupil teachers, middle school leavers, secondary school dropouts etc. The petitioners are expecting a perfect report from them within this limited time frame. Don’t we accept +/- 15 % as within acceptable limit in jobs we carry out? Is a certain degree of error not permissible in our jobs?
The condition within which counting was done in some areas they had to resort to using lantern. We all voted and understand the tension buildup during the counting, the mistrust from polling agents. Aftermath of counting…………….Yet with all the time at their disposal the petitioners could make silly mistakes how much less an electoral officer
If NPP doesn’t have faith in their own polling agents why would they rely on pink sheet that they sent to them. After all it wasn’t the EC that sent the pink sheets. I find it absurd that they discredit the very agents who sent the pink sheet from across the country to them yet their soul of argument depends on the same pink sheet.

Why should Bawumia’s yamayama accounting affect JM’s presidency.

Why should someone through no fault of his have his vote annulled when the machine could not verify him biometrically but had to be verified by the face. NVNV should be distinguished from NBVNV.
It is again laughable to equate dash to zero and hence classify as over voting this is absurdity at its best.
Nana Akuffo Addo is Ghana’s Awolowo. Nana Addo is “fufu funu” nobody wants. Ghana’s only rebel leader.

The EC is the only institution mandated to organise and declare election results in Ghana, not the SC. Granted that there were irregularities in the elections, then it may be likened to a football match in which the referee accepted a bad goal. Yes, it was a bad goal but once the referee had accepted it, the goal stood anyway. Overturning the EC's declaration will be tantamount to usurping its powers and undermining its credibility. This will also mean that the whole outfit (EC) will have to be dissolved and a new one put in place before the next elections, since nobody will trust the existing EC any more. A word to the wise is enough.

The decision in this petition should be left to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Ghana.

The Supreme Court of Ghana is not bound to follow the decisions in electoral cases, of the Supreme Court of the US, the Supreme Court of Kenya or the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

At best, the decisions of these courts may have some persuasive force, but that is as far as they go. The Supreme Court of Ghana is not going to make a decision in the case before it, by concluding that in Al Gore's petition, the US Supreme Court upheld George Bush's election and therefore the same should occur here.

Whatever the decision the Supreme Court of Ghana makes, it should be a uniquely Ghanaian decision based upon the evidence presented before it.

It is unfortunate that Mr Morna made a subtle reference to the possibility of war if the Supreme Court overturns the election results. No one knows the outcome of this petition, but no matter where the decision falls, one expects reason to prevail.

I believe that nobody in his right senses wants war in Ghana. It is fair to say, however, that nobody in his right senses would accept injustice in order to avoid war.

It is everybody's expectation that the Supreme Court will decide the petition fairly, based on evidence,in the interest of justice, and not on what motivated the decisions of courts elsewhere.

In America, Al Gore did not go to court and he cited chaos as his reason. Nigeria is a country of fools who behave like the NDC so we can't count on them. And in Kenya, the rigging was not as widespread as it is in Ghana and that why their Supreme Court ruled the case so fast.

I know Afari Gyan was counting on this assertion of being immune to any prosecution but the fool has damaged his reputation beyond repairs even if the Supreme Court rules in favour of the NDC.

If families would be allowed to come out and tell their stories, Ghanaians would know how many people, esp. innocent citizens and soldiers (akan tribes people) who were senselessly murdered. They came taling about probity, accountability and justice; they talked about equal rights ect. But what we're experiencing tells their wicked intentions and motives.

The NDC want to tell Ghanaians that ruling the our nation should be shared equally, even if their govt is noted to be performing poorly. When everything continue to fall apart for Ghanaians; when Doctors, Nurses, Teachers and workers threaten strike actions due to prevailing wicked economic conditions, the NDC want to tell Ghanaians that they won't leave the scene.

They still want to foist their will on Ghanaians; they don't want us to choose the kind of president we want. They've going around saying that "if God says you won't be president, you cannot be one." Well, they better understand the if God says you cannot be president, you can only do so by stealling the ballot, just as the EC has helped John Mahama to steal the ballot.

We've all been witnesses to how they've removed Akans from various positions of importance in our system, replacing people of other tribes. And they boast as if Ghanaians belong to other tribes, except Akan. The problem is writing such pieces makes people see one as being trabalistic. The irony of the whole thing is that the very people who're attempting to supress Akans would turn around to point accusing fingers. I pray when our brothers and sisters from Brong Ahafo would see the light and turn around. Rawlings and the NDC succeeded in brain-washing our people from that part of Ghana. They've leaned towards the opposite side and that's why all the kind of bullshit going on.

As a matter of urgency, we Akans need to re-claim our re-possess what had been won for us by the blood of our great grandfathers. We shouldn't just look on, allowing others to misuse, mismanage and abuse the land. We're all Ghanaians must live peacefully but from what is going on, it's simply wrong not to let our voices be heard. Our children will not forgive us if we fail them. We have to provide free and good education, health care, shelter among others for future generations. Now is the time to lay the foundation.

We can achieve that when we all work together. North South, East, West and Centra. We shouldn't allow anyone to subdue us through cheating or election fraud.

Throwing its own (new federalist) legal scruples to the winds, the majority twisted itself in legal knots in order to deliver the Presidency to the candidate who would restock the federal courts, and the Supreme Court itself, with reliable right-wingers. As an exercise in raw partisan political power, Bush v. Gore had few historical precedents.

And it was fantastically successful, not only installing a serious candidate for the worst president in all of American history, but also opening the spigot on a pipeline of judicial ideologues that will shape constitutional law for at least a generation. Chief Justice John Roberts and his Bush-era sidekick Samuel Alito (whose appointments Democrats would not filibuster), along with former swing voter Anthony Kennedy and the appalling Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas are well on their way to putting their stamp on a Court prepared to reverse many of the most important civil rights, due process, and anti-discrimination gains of the past half-century.

Today, though, they took a giant step back to the late 19th century, a dreadful period in American history (that Mark Twain dubbed The Gilded Age) in which corporations--industrial, financial, and railroad--ran pretty much everything, from state legislatures (which they bought with impunity) and governors to Congress and the judiciary. Railroad and corporate lawyers stocked the courts, including the nation's highest, where they considered it their sacred duty to protect the interests of corporations--already the richest, most powerful, and most rapacious economic entities in human history--under the ingenious theory that they were "persons" protected by the 14th Amendment, designed to protect the rights of newly freed slaves following the Civil War.

After a Presidential campaign that raised more money from small donors than ever before in history, our brave conservative majority has now ruled that "corporate speech" deserves the same protections as the speech of citizens. It has once again delivered American politics to the wealthiest among us. Most mainstream media reporting seems to think that since labor unions will also be covered by the decision, that it is somehow even handed. Hello? Which labor union is it that has the cash to compete with the insurance industry?

What's next? The minimum wage? (Cuts into profits, you know.) The Clean Air Act? (Ditto--pollution control costs money.) Progressive taxation--what's left of it? (Violation of the 14th Amendment.) If you thought the health care bill coddled the insurance and pharmaceutical companies in its current forms--look out. If Massachusetts didn't do the trick, watch the rest of the moderate Democrats head for corporate patronage.

It took mass movements of working people and their allies to begin to rein in corporations in the early twentieth century. I think it's going to take something similar now. Let's start with the banks.

If SC are seen to have ruled partial with intent, no matter how subtle they woul circumflect, it would have dealt the final fatal blow to forward much. And such wouldn’t just pass judgment because others towed that line. And the evidence is clear, they (the Judicial) have demonstrated an unprecedented process of fair judgment. And that when they are done with all examination would pass a judgment that is credible. That is should Nana Addo lose the case, it wouldn’t be because all petitioners lost their cases elsewhere in other nations so Mornah should find something credible to think of. Ghana's judiciary would tow an astute and unprecedented way of justice. We believe in Ghana.

The case of neighbouring Ivory Coast’s 2010 elections in which thousands of people were killed after the declaration of then-President Laurent Gbagbo as the winner of the poll by that country’s Constitutional Council is similar to that of Ghana. He was decleared the winner when that was not the case.
The Supreme Court should be BOLD and do the Right Thing which will serve as a warning because the Actions of the Electrical Commission is now bearing fruit from Lack of Water, Strikes, Poor Electricity; Poor Educational Standards, TOTAL Corruption.Mr. Mornah's analysis is that coming from the mouth of an idot and it is the same idots who are now in power and they cant solve Ghana's problems which keeps growing worse each passing day.

This two parties can't run away from any of this irregularities, malpractice etc. I remember when this verdict came out the NPP where spreading false hood of over voting and citing some constituencies where vote was added to that of Mahama but that evidence was not proven in court. 120,000 votes added to MAHAMA and some figures deducted from Nana Ado according to their pink sheet but why did they not add that proof to their petition. We all see that they where trying to fool us just to incite their supporters into violence. i was very glad to hear Bawumia certifying in court that Mahama did no wrong which is contrary to the initial allegation of rigging. We should all be patient and see the outcome of this case in court.

I really will like to go with Mr Mornah's assertion but will beg to differ. My reason is simple. The Supreme Court by way of what is called judicial precedent is not bound by the decisions of any of the courts of the countries he has cited.The Supreme court is legally only bound by its own previous decisions. The court is also bound by some of the decisions of the Supreme Court of England & Wales as well as those of the House of Lords. I am not in any way saying that the status quo will not be maintained for practical purposes and convenience, I am saying that if the Supreme Court decides to rule in favour of the ruling government, it will not be because they are bound by judicial precedent from the countries that Mr Mornah mentioned. It will be because of the need to maintain the status quo as it will make sense to do so for the sake of continuity, stability and practical convenience which is what the country needs. We need tranquility in Ghana not an act that will distabilise it

Some polling stations did not open on time ( a.m as stipulated by law,therefore why not make a case for cancellation of the results in those particular areas? Again certain polling stations lacked 'adequate' security to ensure the safety and orederly running of the election in those affected areas,so why don`t we make a case that certain voters therefore refused to 'venture' into those polling places because of the 'real' fear for the safety of their lives? what has become of the GHc 35 million 'bribery' allegation against Dr. Afari Gyan to 'throw' the presidential elections,but not the parliamentary contest. The current election petition case is completely different from the cases he cited. I always see him in court on the tele. Does he follow the arguments in court critically as they onfold, or does he go there to sleep like many of his NDC partners-in-crime? Any sensible person who decides to predict or comment on the possible out come of the electoral petition case before the Supreme Court, should use the "premise" and the "conclusion" set by the court: That's if there were any IRREGULARLITIES" in the election, and if there were, did they have IMPACT on the RESULTS?.

Anybody at all can comment on this petition issue, but serious and astute commentators will use the facts and law together with the standard set by the court to make his point, rather than emotions and subjectivity. Mornah did not base his argument on the guidelines I explained which have been laid out by the judges who are mandated to bring a virdict so, in my opinion, Monarh is talking NONSENSE!!

Could Ghana set a precedence, aside Ukraine?

The problem is the fear of the unknown that could be hanging on the neck of the panel of judges. Granted the scales tip against NDC, the sheer announcement thereof could send shivers down the spines of thousands of intolerant party faithfuls. Are people's minds conditioned to absorb anything like that? The verdict going against NPP may not carry such reprisals from its supporters for the simple reason that they have already seen what it is like to be second. It would only stimulate a re-jerking of emotions which is likely to be relatively short-lived and less ominous.

How much are we prepared to receive the news of the verdict? It seems to me we as a nation are convincingly apprehensive of how people would receive the verdict. In the face of all these we may have to consider borrowing the "recent tradition" and perhaps the rationale of the supreme courts of USA but NEVER sacrificing the details of the TRUTH (of what happened). And cherish the venture of getting to the bottom of the case at the Supreme Court; it would have yielded its positive results; not wasteful though admittedly expensive; not worthless since it would leave a precious legacy for our democratic dispensation.

It would be prudent to have on record for the sake of posterity and our learning the TRUE facts of what happened in Election 2012 in Ghana so that hopefully we do not repeat any electoral lapses in the future. That I believe may be welcoming to the NPP who contrary to what many think are conscious of the peace of the nation and would never imagine us charting the path of post-election Ivory Coast.

Ghanaians are largely religious and as many as walk with the Almighty should deem it a matter of urgency to fervently seek wisdom for our Supreme Court Judges. We should remember there is certainly a way that seems right but the end thereof is evil.
