Ghana and Ghanaians have always admired Michael Essien. We love the guy and even in his injury people couldn't understand why the soccer phenom will not play for Ghana Black Stars. The problem is with Michael. He feels too big to play for Ghana after becoming so rich and popular. This may sound nonsensical but that is the reality. If Michael chooses to play for Ghana, I believe Coach Appiah will not hesitate one bit to field him. After all, they are pals.

You cannot expect the best of people if you dont treat them right with respect. You can ignore all these players and go for new talents, if you fail to treat them right, they will also not give ou their best. No player is stupid or dormat. They are all watching how the GFA handles misunderstanding with players and they learn from it.

When we talk about Ghanaian football legends, nobody will cite this player....who is he before The Ibrahim Sundays, the OSEI Kofis, the Mohammed Polos etc.etc .Who is this player? I am a staunch football fan and was 24 when Ghana won the 3rd African Nations' Cup on our own soil. Essien has seen it all. If the coach should use him at all, then he must come in as a substitute and when Ghana is leading and wants to consolidate her goal. Our majic now lies in guys like Atsu, Majid Warris, Rabiu, Solomon Asante, Dauda etc.

Unfortunately, he is not able and willing to die a little for AmaGhana.

Essien is aware of the GBS demise albeit always falling to the fourth grade.
He is also aware that, the last few games on our hand is very critical to our Brazil qualification, yet he is still quite and mute. He lacks the sense of urgency, no decency whatsoever. He is, as I can say, morally incapacitated and doing nothing about the plight of his motherland who is about to die an unnatural death knowing he could help but wouldn't help.
