KWESI, Many a time you make sense to me but I think you should avoid commenting on every single issue the way others do. Sometimes you should tell those who try to interview you that you have no opinion on a particular matter. If you were in the police force you would use your common sense. Common sense is above the constitution of Ghana. You don't allow demonstrations in a highly volatile environment. You may end up creating more problems. I know the police would use intelligence to decide that demonstration is not appropriate at a particular time. Would you allow demonstrations when there is coup de tat. That would be suicidal. So please learn not to talk every time, but talk hard when the issue falls into your territory because many a time you tickle me.

What is the meaning of policing then? What do you mean by "police have no business suggesting or holding demonstrations for a while? Are you politically motivated or you are speaking as a true journalist? You have missed the point! You are talking like an illiterate as long as security is concerned! Should the police allow demo while there is a sensitive and volatile election case in court! Should the police allow demos and something unexpected happens, who will you call upon to control the crowd? Is it not the "wahala" of the same police? Whose duty is it to maintain peace in the country, is it not the police? And if they are foreseeing danger and are trying to stop it before it becomes a danger, you are exposing your plenty teeth and exposing your political polarism by accusing the very institute that has the duty of maintaining peace in the country! Must Prat talk at all cost about every national issue just because he wants to talk or he talks to make positive contribution to the country! Here Prat has flopped completely! let him shut up and leave the country in peace!

Secondly your reason that he makes good money so, he should buy expensive clothing is not logically not good enough. You did not state what is wrong with the shirt he's wearing. You should have stated what you found wrong. I think you are one of those who just buy things just because it's high in price so it's got to look good on him or her which is not the case most of the time. As for the quality of shirt Pratt is wearing, it is no secret that it is because the man lacks class.

The Pratt man publishes a newspaper that sells at most 500 copies a week. How much do you think he will make after deducting all related overheads? Yet this self-acclaimed socialist owns several cars amongst which are four wheel drives. He operates from an expensive looking expanse of office space at Kokomlemle. I ask, who is he fooling? It is obvious that those agitating for demonstrations are hell bent on causing civil commotion. Police manpower should be better deployed and not placed at the disposal of busy bodies.

In USA, German Britain, etc. Police is the Powerful authority. Pratt do not know what is happening in other parts of the World, and he claims as if he knows all. 95% of contributors here on Ghanaweb are so uneducated and ill mannered that they do not understand the meaning of democracy, freedom of speech, tolerance, good manners and 'let's agree to disagree' without responding to other views and beliefs with insults, tribalism, racism, regionalism, personal abuse and sexism.

It is shameful and embarrassing for the whole world to read that Africans and Ghanaians in particular do not respect each other; do not respect their elders; do not respect their women and their leaders even though they may disagree with their policies or lack of it.

Some writers here begin their sentences with 'tribal insults' before they tackle the topic being discussed. It is about time we grew up and stopped behaving badly on Ghanaweb.

As you can all see the owners of Ghanaweb refuse to appoint a moderator to delete and not publish any comments that carry racial, ethnic, tribal insults as opposed to other civilised publishers who ensure that racist comments are not published.

What does this tell you about Ghanaweb? Their agenda is to promote racism, tribalism, division, tension and to take our eyes off issues of promotion of goodwill, development and progress. Once we remain divided and see each other as enemies, they are able to collaborate with the economic imperialists who are focussing on stealing our resources, oil, etc. through agents who are also Ghanaians.

Police should know that they are paid from public purse but not the president's purse so as to do his bidding.Why are the police trying to arrest freedom of expression and association enshrined in the 1992 constitution which all other laws of the country are a subset to it.If that woman Rose Bio Atinga signatory to such directive is allowed she plunge this country into chaos. A woman who has no iota of respect for her subordinates. I wish Bernard Monarh could challenge such directive by the police if he really want to fight a just course as he seems to be portraying himself.

Pratt, you should find another important news to report on than promoting an uncontrollable demonstration knowing fully that it is against the Supreme Court case that is not ruled on yet. The police cannot stop the demonstration unless they go to court to secure a court order to restrain the organizers. I think what the police are doing is to draw the attention of the public to the difficult situation they are in which will not enable them to provide protection for anybody going on a demo.

Comrade it is the right of every citizen to express his right to demonstrate against an act that he or she thinks is against his human dignity and self respect. But Comrade Kwesi Pratt if what happens in the western liberal democracies connotes democracy, then it is a fact that courts in both Europe and the U.S. have banned the demonstrations by the 99% of the population because the demonstration are said to be done on private property.
What about when the state decides tomorrow to give where demonstrators are to pass or even gather to private companies.
It is the same right to demonstrate that the west used to overthrow governments in North Africa, but ban the same in their country. In Britain violent demonstrating youth and their parents were punished. These are the facts and not fiction.
