A new era has begun and a breath of the desire for a better Ghana has invigorated the people so no nonsense , selfishness , procrastination or greed by politicians and the bureaucrats will be tolerated no matter which party is blessed with the opportunity to lead. it is now very clear the stakes are much higher for ndc as if they loose in court be it a call for a runoff or outright award to npp the ndc and its institutions will be wiped out into the oblivion of history as they will all be investigated and jailed for the ongoing corruption, conspiracy and murder of mills not forgetting the looting of the national wealth so never again will the ewe hegemony rule the country . the npp on the other hand has it easy as all they will do if they loose is restrategize and bring in a younger generation of firery hard punching politicians like ken and sir john since its clear this incompetent amateur administration is at best a one term govt. the general lack of trust and confidence in this govt is more than just overwhelming so one asks how did they win the elections if it was not a matter of rigging or election engineering . most intellectuals of integrity and honor have distanced themselves this we see in the poor selection of ministers and appointees . they are so busy trying to blame others for their mistakes that they dont see its pointless . the latest drool is that the ahwois , totobi , duffuor and co are to blame for the general non performance in their previous mandate instead of admitting it were the hegemonic ewe incompetents likes fifi kwetey who held the govt to ransom.

Sincerely, though Kwame Karikari is my uncle, I must confess that there is nothing impressive about him. You can hardly include him among intellectuals. My conclusion is that he is too politically biased to analyse any issue dispassionately.

President Mahama was vice president when the 'babies with sharp teeth' (JJR's own expression) of Koku Anyidoho, Agyenim Boateng, and Ablakwa were using the media to insult their elders who did not share the same politics with them, calling them names such as diaper wearing etc. At the time he did not call those babies to halt the insults. Asiedu Nketia is another example, calling anyone who who exercised his democratic and constitutional right to go to court an idiot.

What does the president do about them? NOTHING! and now he is complaining as president about others using the media to do the same thing. What a hypocrite!

The fact here is that rightist politicians always make-up stories to paint a negative image of leftist politicians. In our parts of the world you must be seen to be the doll of western capitals and anything different from that means that you are not democratic.
I heard a member of the NPP saying this morning that the state has no right to ban demonstrations but the 99% march and demonstrations have been banned by courts both in Europe and U.S.
When people bash Robert Mugabe and Murmur Ghadaffi they wittingly forget that the best friends of the west are monarchies in the Persian Gulf. We are even wittingly made to believe that the monarchies in Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Holland are elected every four years, if elections every four years means freedom and democracy for people.
We are wittingly also made to believe that every person without the support of the monopoly capital can stand for elections in the west. Thus we are again made to believe that by funding the election of parliamentarians and presidents in the west the legislature and executive are immune from the control of monopoly capital in western liberal democracy.
At times I ask myself what do these lecturers who are bereft of ideas tech our children apart from what keep us as a neo-colony forever.
