This is the dirtiest politics the Mahama administration has played so far. 9/11 took place in Bush's administration, and the hunt for Bin Laden was also started by Bush. But the difference in administration and the killing of Bin Laden in Obama's administration did not prevent Bush being invited to mark 9/11 events in New York.

As far as dams are concerned, it is the Colonial Master that should take the credit and not Nkrumah. Before Nkrumah came to power, the Colonial Master had marked all the spots Ghana could build Dams and subsequent administrations looked for funds to build them. Moreover, building Akosombo dam was the brain child of the British Colonial Master. Nkrumah merely supported the idea and took loan from America to build it after we had had our independence.

Why can't Mahama give credit to Kufour for building the Bui dam? How many leftist governments have come to power after Nkrumah? Why didn't they look for money to fund and build the dam? The fact is that NPP built the Bui dam and NDC can never change that history no matter how hard they try to distort it.

Plans for dams on the river were first discussed and planned by the colonial government in 1920s'. In 1940 surveyors were busy on the river marking out the best sites for dams. Akosombo and Bui were marked out as the best sites with Kpong be a third possibility.

Nkrumah initiated construction of Akosombo. Similarly General Achaempong initiated the Kpong dam. Finally Kuffuor initiated the Bui dam.

To attribute everything to Nkrumah is just wrong. Yes he was our first leader but to attribute to him so called "visions" that he did not have is dishonest. I understand why we have inaccurate history here in Ghana because Nkrumah in building up his personality cult told us all that ALL things in post independence Ghana was his doing - or so his followers tell us.

Give credit where it is due but please let us refrain from the culture of historical dishonest which is a function of our propaganda fueled political culture.

Kuffor sidelined Nkrumah and instead took all foreign visitors to Mahiya palace.
