Why did those clerics and churches come to your aid? There might be two reasons. First may be they are being what they aught to be but you are not poor, and that raises a question mark.
Secondly may they were just being business conscious knowing that if you win your case there would be an harvest for them.
Do not feel so important therefore to think that because they came to your help you are right and the law of the land wrong.
Why do not you just surrender the money and trust God to recompense. For I know God- He comes to the rescue of the just and that is why the just lives by faith.
All said repent of your greediness and be sincere in your business and the good Lord will give you double for all that you think you have lost.
