Obviously,this allowed this 'slick' attorney to use the funds anyway he wished without the client knowing what was really going on. How crafty can this guy be?

In Mr Atta Akyea's own words 'He recounted giving his former client a sheet of paper indicating the various fees required to pay as filing fees for the case, prior to the payment of the ¢80 million, but could not tell the particular location where he the paper to Mr. Adom'. I believe this so called mongul was aware of this case brought against him, and a very important document spelling out the details of payment which we call 'terms of payment' cannot be located? LOl, and this man is an MP. No wonder we are in this situation as a country.

A little thinking should tell you that first of all, the headlines is sensational to get idiots like you to jump in start your tribal nonsense. The writer quotes the charges and the fees for the lawyer in old Ghana cedis and then when it comes to the money he collected for J Adom, he suddenly starts quoting in Dollars and GH. Cedis. Atta Akyea made mention of his charges being calculated on the basis of the Ghana legal council directives based on the amount of money involved in the services rendered, and all these is not enough for you to realise that there is more to the story than what is written here.
People think and stop behaving stupidly and using this as an opportunity to insult Akans-enough of this nonsense.

Some of them are intentional operational tactics by the Lawyers to leave the widest possible room for taking any size of a judgment debt payment awarded to their clients,

Al Clients need to have specific fees agreed on in writing by their Lawyers before going ahead with the cases. If the client is a company, at least, the accountant must demand that an unambiguous contract fee is stipulated and recorded in its Ledgers.

The amount demanded for fees could be a %age of the award won, in the case of suits. Expenses could be estimated and either included in the final fee or the client could go find it and put in escrow.

Many greedy Attorneys tend to play on clients' desperation and ignorance to trap them. We should not forget the case between Appiah-Menka and some Western Region Chiefs in the 70s.
