Cindy, I did like your contribution but would want you to ask me why John Jeremiah Rawlings is not talking about this very bad and questionable administration of John Mahama or this current government, and all I can tell you is that, when people are hungry, they talk a lot, let them be fed, and they shut-up!

Hope you understand me because Rawlings and wife are financially sound now via Mahama at the expense of the poor and the ignorant in society in that part of our world hence, our unending suffering.

Ask me again, why the president increased the pay of almost all Parliamentarians over a 100%? Although he(Mahama)knew the damaging effect it could have on the economy in the long run, forgetting the type of 'man' we were dealing with. This is a man of communication and would do anything in his power to quite or shut-up those who would be a threat or deemed as threat to holding to power.

Parliamentarians, were given money equal or if not over those in England, Ghana, being a country with Third World tendencies or if you will, ideology. I wouldn't like to say I hate any one in my life. On the other hand, how could or can I trust a president who own's a private plane in his brother name, five to six houses: three in England and the other three in South Africa, having millions of dollars (tax payers-money) stashed away in Swiss banks in his wife's name, monies we as people, can not access or account for. And you think Woyome is only a criminal? Which very carefully.

All am saying is, Mahama is a con-artist and Ghanaians should and must be very careful!!!. It is soo sad Ghanaians allowed this stolen vedict during the 2012 election!

It is not possible by our rules to unseat a government who has not run-out of its mandate. Truth is that, should the LORD tarry, it would take 4 years before we can go to the next polls to renew President Mahama's mandate or replace him with another person.

First of all, church leaders should know their place in society and rather than play party politics, they should focus on their core function - to lead their congregations. That said, Ebo Quansah seems to have forgotten that the president is saddled with a petition questioning his legitimacy at a time when our country requires sound, undivided leadership attention to address our numerous problems which are not of the president's making.

I detest all these hypocrites, charlatans and arm chair critics who think that somehow they can just use their newspapers to advance their selfish political agendas.

I do not see much different now for this government compared to those we have had in the last 12 years. If anything, we have a president who has come into office and for the first time in the history of Ghana, he has been dragged into court where his very legitimacy is being questioned.

This is what I would do if I were president. I will be tough, ruthless but focused on the agenda for the development of the country, deal with all those who seek to bring the nation down - from corrupt business men to politicians and people in institutions who are under-performing and siphoning our resources. I will without shame allocate resources to those poorer parts of the country where it is needed the most and make no apologies to anyone about it e.,g. the northern and western regions. I will let all our institutions and their leaders know (through a leaders' conference) that their performance will be monitored, scrutinised and those who are found wanting (irrespective of who they are) removed so that we have better people to do the job from any political persuasion.

What is this president's problem? Even if he was as tough as I would be, he probably feels he cannot do that in the present climate less he be accused of dictatorship - which indeed some are already accusing him of.

Ebo, you have been around for a very long time. Why don't you put yourself in the president's shoes, then you will realise how tough things are. Stop complaining in the comfort of your arm chair and make positive contributions to our national development instead.

If he was a critic of Mills and has learnt to behave in a better way, then why not give him credit for that? how I have condemned his surrogate Kofi Adams who thought that somehow because he was associated with Rawlings, and was canvassing for Nana Konadu his wife for leadership, he could be so disparaging of Atta Mills!!

I respect leaders and detest those who choose to belittle or insult the office e.g. of the president. That is precisely the reason why I have responded to Ebo Quansah's ill-informed and rather dubious article. Even though we all know Rawlings, Kufour and other leaders have had their successes and failures, I do not go attacking the person, but will be critical of governments purely on matters of policy.

People like you show immaturity and because you are blinded by party, you never rise above the little that divides us and think of the bigger picture of we Ghanaians making our nation greater and stronger, but think it is only your ilk who can or should be running the show. So they got married and all three daughters then said "I want a honeymoon but we cant afford it". The parents couldn't afford it either so they deiced they would have the honeymoon at their parents house.

So on there honeymoon night their mother woke up and deiced to go downstairs and get a drink. On the way down she heard the first daughter screaming but she juts ignored it. When she reached the second daughters bedroom she could hear laughing and just ignored it. When she reached the third daughters room she could hear nothing and deiced 2 ignore it.

The next morning at the breakfast table she said to the first daughter "Why were you screaming?". And the daughter replied "Well mother you told me 2 scream when something hurt."

Then the mother said to the second daughter "Why were you laughing last night?" and the daughter replied "Mother you told me to laugh when something tickled".

Then the mother said to the last daughter "Why didn't I hear anything coming from your room last night?" and the daughter replied "Well mother you told me never to talk with my mouth full"

Rawlings is smartly behaving like the woman who has his mouth ful by not talking.

The Presidency of Ghana is not a Theocracy. If it were all would be just and right and there would be no need for anybody to complain except the wicked and unrighteous. Our government is a democracy which is a government of the people, by the people and for the people and we, the people, have every right and are obligated by common reason and by the constitution to bring our government to scrutiny, especially when we have every reason to believe the ship of state is not anchored by solid democratic principles or it's being steered off course .
Yes, we can question all our presidents, both past and present. Though they may enjoy some constitutional immunity from prosecution we can still invoke the same constitution to probe their indiscretions and grave misconduct whilst in office.
We have reason to believe that some or all of our presidents, past and present, were or are corrupt and or aided and abetted corruption.
One past president we can never forget or forgive is J.J. Rawlings. He brought so much hope to a despondent nation but ended up the most disappointing. In his time former heads of state were summarily executed on mere allegations of corruption but as the apostle-in-chief of the probity and accountability he coined, eulogized and sermonized ad nauseam ,and which became the central tenet of his revolution , he was a massive joke and a failure. He failed to account for his sudden wealth and his stunning unexplained rags to riches story formed the basis of the peoples consensus that he must have put his hand in the cookie jar many times.We reserve the right to talk about him at any time, whether in life or in death because he committed the worst of all crimes - taking the lives of others on frivolous and unsubstantiated allegations and committing the same crimes he accused them of. The least we can do is talk vociferously about the role(s) he has played and continues to play to corral us to the present horrendous "meat to the bone" economy like he did about the alleged crimes of others because he's protected by an indemnity clause in our constitution .
The sitting president has informed the nation about the state of our economy but is that all he's obligated to tell his subjects who are shareholders in the business called Oman Ghana? Until we get his answers we will keep asking President Mahama legitimate questions like how we arrived at the "meat to the bone" economy and who ate all the meat since we, the people were never informed of or invited to the "meat eating party."
