Mills avoided many of the slips and mistakes pepeni has made. he has deeped the divisions and championed tribalism , ethnocentrism , ministers based on nepotism and favors rather than on merit and competence , lack of understanding of the majority and sidelining majority participation in favor of a minority . has not tackled corruption thus enabling it to take root right down to the secretary and body guard level. marginalized national interest in favor of petty cash deals for his selfish interest . advocated for abhorring gay perversity and homosexuals influencing the society. participated and has given protection and refuge to all his cronies who have robbed the tax payer and the wealth of the nation depriving future generations any chance of prosperity . has not been able to facilitate an environment that creates jobs , boost the economy with prudent macro economic strategies and implementing solutions . the list goes on but for now we all conclude pepeni is a miserable failure and we are heading on a fast train to war . ndc is wise to rethink if this is the future they should secure for their children. maybe wisdom will prevail though i doubt it with all the deeply entrenched ewe hegemony , northern tribalism mixed with islamic mentality ,corrupt southerners with shallow greedy motives . in short a club of the worst caliber of Ghanaian s. if the supreme court does call for a runoff soon we all know the country will fall apart.

Nontheless, they did what they could - positive timing intervention, by my views.

During Rawlings era we read about serial killing of women with their blood syphoned. Does that mean there was no security, law and order in Ghana then. Why did'nt the host question that or is it because the medium desired to surf on the diabolical wave to discredit the government?

In America there was killing in a school with asult rifle that took away lives of several children couple of months ago. There have been sporadic killing and just last month there were two bom explosions during the Boston marathon event that killed and injured people. Investigations are still going on.

Does that mean there is no law and order in US.

What happened in Kumasi is unfortute and people should not read politics into it nor blame the government for lack of security, law and order.

If any patriotic or good citizen has anything to offer, I think it should be a contribution towards solving the problem. The country, Ghana, is for all us.

I am inclined to believe that we akans must be schooled properly otherwise we are losing our dignity to greediness and lawlessness. The protest in court is baseless, the arguments on the petitioners side have no basis. The evidence is not strong enough, no direct evidence as Bawumia said so he wasn't gonna answer some questions because he wasn't there. Just look at the courtroom, all the lawyers are from other tribes, No Ashanti, Kwahu or Akim all that we have are pocket lawyers who can better work in the palace of chiefs instead of law courts. I wonder if we can match the other tribes in the next ten years. Please let us change our attitudes and face the future with truth and determination otherwise we are heading for total eradication from the higher echelons of the nation. Also these pocket lawyers must stop misleading the people. Don't go beyond the ethics to misdirect the people from truth. Really something must be done. This is the second time Akuffo Addo, who wants to be President by all probabilities, has gone to court. It makes no sense, Ghanaians must isolate him and move the country forward. After all, you don't gain nothing when he becomes president so don't kill each other for politicians. Akims are too litigious that's why there too much poverty and illiteracy in their area.
Worry about what you can do for your country and not what your country can do for you. Indeed Ghana is a lawless country and it came to light during Limann's era when the then IGP Mr Kyei saw and voiced it out, he was deposed immediately. With all due respect to the former First Lady, her views on the situation are alarmist, sensational, misinformed and aimed to create a false impression. She is doing it purely for political gain and that is grossly disingenuous. Here are my reasons:

1. Ghana is one of the most stable countries in Africa and in deed any world region with a functioning civil society, government and the rule of law Madame, is very much alive and well in Ghana. Is it perfect, certainly not. But to suggest that there is chaos and the country is on the way to "an abyss" is as false as it is grossly misleading.

2. Yes, there have been a number of what appear to be 'revenge attacks' between rival 'gangs' e.g. in Kumasi and there are even suggestions that some of these may be related to political factions/rivals e.g. involving the Manshia MP who has come out to deny any association with any of the victims or any of the sides. This particular series dates back even before the last election (and where was Nana Konadu then?).

3. There have been other killings attributed to armed robbers and in all these cases the security services ahve been trying to investigate the issues. It is clear that somehow some people know who the culprits are but will simply not come out and tell (for whatever reasons). These are crimes (which are not unusual in any country) and we do see them everyday in America, Europe and elsewhere. That we have not endured a lot of these is more of a blessing and testament to our very law and order and foundations of our society as well as the security services.

What Nana Konadu should be talking about whilst she raises her concerns is: How can we fight such crimes and bring the perpetrators to book, rather than trying to make cheap political capital out of a situation for which she has no clue as to how to deal with.

4. There are crimes relating to greed, galamsay etc. involving locals and foreign nationals e.g. Chinese illegal miners. We are all witnesses to the repatriation of some of these Chinese miners and others being arraigned before court to answer for their 'crimes'. I believe law enforcement is trying hard despite their sometimes limited resources.

Nana Konadu, what we need is a united front and concerted efforts to tackle these issues and to make it clear that Ghana will not and shall not tolerate any form of lawlessness or people taking the law into their own hands. What you should be doing is supporting government and suggesting ways of improving the situation, not giving a 'doomsday scenario' and creating the impression that the country is falling to pieces. Is that why you were given an award? You belittle yourself and do a disservice to that award with your posturing.

By the way, whatever happened to the poor Trotro driver who got involved in an unfortunate accident involving your convoy on the Accra-Tema motorway over a decade ago? What happened to the poor soul in custody? Did he survive? Was it not an accident and were you and your entourage not over-speeding on that fateful day? There was no chaos in the country then was there?

So what happened during the Rawlings Konadu PNDC era. killings, human rights abuses, gonja barracks, people disappearing. Police and army brutality. Whats the difference? Our system needs a major overhaul and it starts from the top. Once again, not an NDC, NPP issue, but a Ghana Issue. Legislation and its enforcement is needed to curtail the increase in violent crime in the country. We may need to establish neighborhood watch dogs or sattelite police stations within our communites whose main purpose will be the security of our citizens. These stations must be equipped with the needed technology, arms and vehicles to become effective. These attacks must be met with maxumum force to set an example that the blood of every Ghanaian is precious and must be protected. We realize the government has a lot on its plate that it inherited form past administrations. This situation did not just come up it has been brewing for years and we are reaping the effects thereof. Not an NPP, NDC, PNDC issue but a national calamity of which all parties are equally guilty.
Lets solve the problem instead of pointing dirty fingers and blood tainted fingers at the government.
