A BIZARRE picture of a cat watching Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on television being cross-examined at the Supreme Court is spreading like wild fire in Kumasi.

The picture shows the back of a light brown cat seated in a composed manner on the ground in a room attentively watching the television.

The cat is seen seriously watching Dr. Bawumia who is flipping through some documents at the Supreme Court on television. Already, people with superstitious belief in the city have started giving spiritual meanings to the picture.

According to them, the picture was an indication that even animals were thrilled by the performance of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) vice presidential candidate in court so far.

They added that the picture meant the judges at the Supreme Court would rule the matter in favour of Dr. Bawumia and the other petitioners.

The exact place where the now famous picture was taken could not be determined by Daily Guide but it is in wild circulation. The picture’s quality and setting gave enough credence to the fact that it was taken in someone’s room.

The picture has been circulating fast mostly among the people in the Garden City, notably NPP fans. People with smart phones have been exchanging the picture via whatsApp, Bluetooth and other avenues. It is also being circulated on other social media networks such as facebook and twitter.

Some NPP supporters in the city that are superstitious insisted that the matter had been judged in the spiritual realm long time ago.

They said the petitioners were adjudged winners in the case and that influenced the cat’s decision to stay glued to the television watching Dr. Bawumia for several hours.

The NPP fans were of the view that a picture of a cat watching someone attentively on television had not been witnessed in the country before. They stated that the cat’s action was clear evidence that victory would surely come the way of the petitioners.

However, other National Democratic Congress (NDC) faithful that spoke to the paper insisted that the NPP fans were living in ‘fool’s paradise’.

According to them, though they did not have any doubt about the authenticity of the picture, it (the picture) could not determine the winner of the case.

The NDC fans said the matter at the Supreme Court was a serious matter so the NPP should treat it as such. Some were also of the opinion that the cat got attracted when Dr Bawumia repeated Dr Kwabena Adjei’s, ‘many ways of killing a cat’ slogan.

Various Institutions in the country, seeing this have also requested for an increment of their salaries and understandably so. Some Institutions have gone on strike to press home their demands. Today in Ghana, it looks as if there are two sets of citizens, with each of the two main Parties representing these two citizenry.

The truth is that most of today's Politicians and Media people are young and do not know other than Partisan Politics and as such have not done much to curb its distructive powers.

My Prayer is that this formidable Lecture will be taken on board by all stakeholders.

The next step is the churches (so-called people of God), who also are planting bad seeds in the society. Let us be bold and eradicate all these selfish and false ideologies in Unity and that is the only way we could move forward for a real prosperity.

Lastly, those notorious Radio stations, Newspapers which have been agigating wars, enemities, liars should be liquidated. It is a real disgrace to our future kids. Are we not ashemed? Look! Ghana is our home no matter what, let us begin a new era.

It is the same system that is carried on into politics, the party leaders and their friends live like kings and queens and that is why they are possessed by some spirit to do what ever possible to ensure victory, foul or fair, so it does not matter which party comes to power, the results will be the same "NO PROGRESS FOR THE COUNTRY" Asiedu Nketia is one of such people, and Mahama is another because when you compare him to Mills, you would come to the same conclusion. Mills would distance himself from any action meant to give him an unfair advantage over his opponents, but Mahama will simply turn a blind eye. The solution to our problems is hard to accept because it is like bitter pill, hard to swallow. "If we choose to continue on the path of democracy, we must simply look at what others have done that make them successful" US, CANADA, FRANCE, ITALY, GERMANY, ISRAEL, SPAIN ETC. England has a King and a Queen but there is only one that unites the whole nation. We must abolish this "KING QUEEN NONSENSE" and gradually educate the people to see themselves as one people. We must punish crime severely and reward hard work handsomely" We have come to a point that we have to adopt the death penalty for serious crimes by politicians against the nation as is done in China. Democracy will never work in Ghana unless we are able to make the difficult changes required.

Ordinary people who should be seriously thinking how to feed and educate their children are forever consumed with politics. But who can blame them? The so-called educated elites keep knocking their heads together, whilst they (elites) continue to plunder their nation’s resources. I dare predict that if a fraction of the energies Ghanaians spend talking and arguing about politics were channelled towards developmental ideas, Ghana would be a high income country within the next ten years. With rate we are going however, a mutually assured destruction (MAD) (to use a Cold War jargon) is not an unrealistic outcome. For me, the most diabolical of all is the inherent tribalism which expresses itself what I may call ‘group characterisation’ fused with politics. The idea that all Ewes are this, all Ashanti’s that etc. – a dangerous potion which is bound for total annihilation, unless we change our ways. No, I am not a prophet of doom; I realist, I gather.

For months now Otumfuo is asking every landlord in his kingdom especially Kumasi to huge sums of money based upon the location and the size of each building. Ghanaians in general should realise that he otumfuo is causing hike in rent and this is selfish to himself and not to the interest of his own people.I will like to appeal to him to withdraw that decision before he loose his respect.There is nothing of that nature in the consitution of Ghana about that kind of extortion of money from the good hearted landlords in Kumasi and that the president of Ghana under the leadership of his exelency mr Mahama should intervein before Kumasi is turned to a wartorn Region. I hope otumfuo will pay attention to all and sandris and act accordingly thanks.
