It is often said one's stupidity can cost him a goat or sheep in a chief's court.

How can one be so gullible as to die over a so-called "holy water" from a mortal man? If Ghanaians and Africans can spare just 10% of the energy and time they waste clamoring for "holy relief" and apply them to seek enlightenment and science, we will be way ahead than where we are now. They do all this holiness impressionism and yet are as corrupt as hell. Religion indeed is the opiate of the masses.

If you are sick or ill of something please go to the hospital, last time I checked the Pope does the same when he gets sick. If what you seek is not related to sickness but good luck or how to prosper in today’s economy seek real professional help, TB Joshua will separate you from your last cedi or dollar.

Frankly, I think TB Joshua should be hauled before court for gross misconduct and discharging of his church service with such abandon as to cause the death of some gullible poor souls. In this century when science is putting some people on the moon and in space we are here hoping for some magic or divine intervention at the behest of a so-called man of God. Nonsense!

Yes believe in God and not in Man. But even more importantly, put to use the brains God endowed you with. The mind is a terrible thing to waste. Don't go to church to harass God incessantly after he has given you all that brains and heart to surpass all creatures on Earth. Go to school, pursue science, technology and the humanities or learn some trades or skills. Don't sit on your lazy ass and irritate God's ears. Haba! For all that I know TB Joshua is dancing all the way to the bank.

Jato you are off the mark in your blaming of the culprit for the unemployment situation in Ghana on the current government. Tell me which government/regime guaranteed employment when they were in power since independence. In other words were there enough jobs during NPP's time or it was even worse during their time in office? The truth is that aside of Nkrumah's regime the question of unemployment has been the mainstay of the economy of Ghana.

What Ghana lacks are leaders with proactive economic plans that will ensure the creation of jobs. For example each government should have plans that refrain from selling raw materials on the international market and rather focus on adding higher value to all natural resources since this move will not only create jobs but it will be the foundation of the cottage industry, enhance indigenous technology, extend the shelf lives of primary produce, it will also make it possible to have access to more foreign exchange since processed goods value more on the international market than their unprocessed counterparts in the form of cocoa, coffee, bauxite, copper, aluminium etc that are not processed. Further this move by the government will also allow inventors to have access to patents and aid in improving the standard of living in the country.

That means natural resources obtained from farming, quarrying, drilling, fishing, hunting and forestry have to be processed before they are sold on the international market. Until they do that Ghana and the rest of Africa will continue to face unemployment to the highest levels regardless of the natural resources they have. Jobs are not created out of a vacuum.

It is about time Ghana has a paradigm shift and expect somehow jobs will appear from nowhere to reduce the endemic unemployment situation in the country.

One of the greatest prophets of God was Elijah who we know stopped the rains and called them back with words.Where do you see Elijah predicting everything? In fact, Elijah did not know that the brook that fed him would dry up and he would have to leave to Zarephath. See 1 Kings 17. Have you asked then,. if Elijah is a true prophet even to stop the rains, whey not cause the brook to continue producing more water? Also didn't Elijah Know that the brook would dry up and he would have to leave? Similarly, TB Joshua is a true prophet, but he is still a human being subject to the elements of the earth. Unless God shows him, He cannot always know. And the fact that he did not predict it does not change his prophetic calling or gifting.

However, God has also made it in such a way that He is not conventional--your brains are not always the solution to all problems , especially problems that have spiritual root. Have you asked why God had to use prophet Elisha to heal Naaman when God could have healed Naaman directly or some other way, and why bath in the dirty river for leprosy healing. See 2 Kings 5. Indeed, God has used TB Joshua to heal many and he was simply freely giving what he has, and not being selfish. Itis natural that people will die like this as we see in many stampedes. Why don't we argue and condemn for negligence too when people die in football stampedes. The good things here is the church obeyed the law of the land to truncate the service when police came in.

732 Nigerians in Chinese prisons

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Joe Keshi, said on Monday in Abuja that 732 Nigerians are currently in detention in Chinese prisons for various offences.
Mr. Keshi, who just returned from Beijing, China, where he led the Federal Government‘s delegation to the China-Nigeria Strategic Dialogue, said their offences included overstaying, trafficking, robbery and fraud.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Dialogue established in 2008 provides the two countries the opportunity to assess and review the state of their relationship and to reach agreements on some global, political and economic issues.
Mr. Keshi said in a statement in Abuja that of the 732 concerned, 322 were in detention, 304 were awaiting deportation and 106 were serving various jail terms for drug trafficking, robbery and fraud.
``Apart from discussions on political and economic issues, the forum afforded the two countries opportunity to seek to address the growing consular issues which have emerged recently and has constituted an irritant.
``The two countries will collaborate to find lasting solutions to the increasing and arbitrary arrest and detention of Nigerians who have overstayed their visa in China,’’ the envoy stated.

A disturbing incident in in Eket , Nigeria reveals that unsuspecting roadside barbecue patrons may have been eating vulture meat instead of chicken.
Hungry buyers tempted by the scrumptious sizzle of meat cooking over a charcoal fire may want to think twice before buying a snack from one of these outdoor roasting vendors. What they think is chicken could actually be … vulture.
Apparently, one vulture-roasting vendor’s plan was disrupted last weekend by market officials when it was discovered he had stuffed ten live vultures in a large bag” - and was planning to prepare them for roasting.
According to recent articles in two Nigerian sources, The News and The PM News, the incident started when the vultures, suffering from the heat inside the bag, tore open a hole and attempted to escape. This unusual activity attracted the attention of a large curious crowd - that soon became angry. Eyewitnesses were upset that vulture meat was being sold - and eaten - as chicken, noting that vulture meat is considered taboo by the people in the area.
The man caught with the vultures enraged the crowd when he told them his cuisine was nothing new.
I have been in the business for the past five years. I usually prepare some as roasted ‘chicken’ which I sell to the general public.
The same sources reported that the crowd attempted to lynch the man, but were prevented from doing so by market officials. He somehow escaped during the chaos, and officials were unable to recapture him. This failure angered the officials, and in an act of cruelty, they proceeded to set the frightened vultures on fire.
It was also reported that another man confessed to selling vulture as chicken just a few months ago.
(I am presuming that due to the size differences between native vulture species and domestic chickens, the roasted meat was sold in pieces and not as whole birds.)
Vulture populations are declining
Vultures are in trouble, and nearly every species (there are 23 species of vulture!) is currently experiencing a decrease in numbers. In fact, conservationists recently sounded the alarm with International Vulture Awareness Day (IVAD09), now slated as an annual event for the first Saturday in September.
Tragically, exploiting the remaining birds for human consumption adds to the problem - and will only hasten their decline. While the seemingly small incident above involves just two people, chances are that others are doing the same thing. Considering that one man may have been killing vultures for five years, how many of these wild birds do you suppose have perished at his hands - and the hands of others like him?
And when the vulture population declines, there are very unpleasant effects on the environment. For example, in India , the devastating decrease in vulture numbers has resulted in feral dog population explosion - which in turn, has been linked to the spread of rabies in humans.

Nigeria was yesterday ranked the 15th most failed nation in the world, out of a total of 177 countries that were surveyed. The country moved upwards three places from 18th position in 2008; and 17th in 2007.
The newly released Failed State Index 2009 was published by the United States think-tank and an independent research organisation, the Fund for Peace, and the magazine Foreign Policy. This is the 5th edition, since 2005.
According to the detailed Index , Somalia emerged the most failed state, for the second time running, while Norway emerged the best or most sustainable state.
The index's ranks are based on twelve indicators of state vulnerability - four social, two economic and six political. The indicators are not designed to forecast when states may experience violence or collapse. Instead, they are meant to measure a state's vulnerability to collapse or conflict.
Out of the 15 most failed nations surveyed, ten were African nations. These include Somalia (1st), Zimbabwe (2nd), Sudan (3rd), Chad (4th), Dem. Rep. of Congo (5th), Central African Republic (8th), Guinea (9th), Ivory Coast (11th), Kenya (14th), and Nigeria (15th).

THE Greece ambassador in Nigeria ,, Mr. Haris Dafaranos and his wife, Haralambo, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja , on Friday evening, labelled Nigerians thieves.
The couple were at the reception of the luxurious hotel when the wife found a wrist watch belonging to a customer of the hotel, Mr. Notore Kolagbodi, who had apparently forgotten it while checking out.
The security personnel on duty at the reception then requested for the wrist watch to be kept for the owner but the woman would not entertain any such intervention from the personnel.
Her reason for refusal, according to an eye witness, was that Nigerians are habitual thieves and so she could not trust the security people to hand it over to the owner. Even the intervention of the security manager on duty and several other guests could not persuade the ambassador’s wife to part with the wrist watch.

KANO , Nigeria (AFP) – Child abduction for ritual killings is on the rise in the Nigerian city of Kano , say officials and advocacy groups who blame the trend on greed for political power and quick wealth in this northern commercial center.
Body parts from toddlers and pre-schoolers are prized ingredients for lucky charms thought to make people rich or rise up on the political ladder.
In the last few months, kidnapping of young children has increased in Kano -- the second largest city after the capital Lagos and long the economic heart of the north -- raising concern among parents and officials.
"Ritual killers are now on the prowl in the city on an increasing scale, abducting children for rituals for wealth and positions," said Ibrahim Abullahi, spokesman for the state government's Societal Re-orientation Directorate. The agency is charged with improving public morals in this predominately Muslim city.
"This trend has been on the rise in the last three months as the number of complaints we receive from parents about their missing children has more than doubled," Abdullahi told AFP.

Nigerians account for 90% of crimes by Africans in China, says envoy
APA- Lagos (Nigeria) The Nigerian ambasador to China, Alhaji Aminu Wali, says that Nigerians account for about 90 percent of the crimes committed by Africans in China.
According to reports monitored in Lagos, Wali said on Sunday in Beijing that the development was unfortunate as it had portrayed Nigeria in bad light.
"Comparatively of all the crimes committed by Africans in China, Nigerians occupy about 90 percent.
"Currently, we have over 100 Nigerians in various jails across China, excluding those already sentenced to life imprisonment,’’ the envoy said in a report.

Northern Nigeria has over 10 million child beggars-Minister
APA Abuja (Nigeria) Worried by the high level of poverty and educational backwardness in the 19 Northern states in Nigeria, the country’s junior Education minister, Aishatu Dukku, said on Tuesday there were more than 10 million child beggars in the region.
The minister said in Kaduna, North Central Nigeria that, "we are yet to finish our compilation, but at the moment we have over 10 million child beggars roaming our streets, and that’s a conservative estimate,” she said.
She said it was disheartening that northerners were not emulating their southern counterparts in investing in education.

Abuja — 73% of the population of the country do not have modern toilet facilities, the National Demographic Health Survey (NDHS) by the Nigeria Population Commission (NPopC), has shown. The survey shows that only 27% of Nigerians have an improved toilet facilities as people who do not have either defecate outside or have toilet facilities that do not meet the laid down requirements.
It also gave a breakdown of the survey stating that the rural areas which are worst hit have 25% and the urban areas 31%.

Woman marries her dad for British visa

The extraordinary scam was apparently executed by Jelili Adesanya while ministers turned a blind eye.

Asaba — A fight over canned beer and food by some members of Uduaghan Ladies Vanguard almost ruined the birthday party of Delta State Commissioner for Energy Comrade Ovuzurie Macaulay Wednesday in Asaba, Delta State.
The ladies are members of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan's ladies political organization. The governor nurtured it to assist in the actualization of his 2011 re-election. The birthday celebration of the Commissioner for Energy was abruptly stopped midway when the ladies started falling over one another in the struggle to grab plates of food and cans of beer served at the party.
The meals which included roasted chicken and meat pie sprinkled stained some of the ladies' clothes and the floor at the Squash Court venue, opposite the Government House in Asaba.
The scenario almost resulted to a free-for-all fight, athough some of the ladies had already started hitting one another before friends and political associates of the commissioner intervened.
When the dust settled, a fretful master of the ceremony asked the ladies to apologise to the celebrant and the women folk.
The National President of the ladies group who is also a member of the State House of Assembly representing Warri South 1, Omawumi Udoh, knelt down before the celebrant to tender the apology on behalf of the ladies.

Ghana ahead of Nigeria in prosperity index
Ghana has come ahead of Nigeria in the over all ranking of the 2009 Legatum Prosperity Index released recently. Out of the 104 countries surveyed Ghana stands at 79 and Nigeria ranks 98 in the study that looks at the factors in a country that could produce prosperity. On top of the table is Finland and at the bottom is Zimbabwe.

Three suspected ritualists were on Saturday arrested at Madalla with sacks that contained severed bodies of children.
An eyewitness said a vigilant policeman accosted the suspects at 5.45 pm, when he noticed blood stains dripping from the sack as the suspects carried the sacks close to Saint Theresa Catholic Church, along Suleja road in Madalla.
"The three men with the sacks were about to board a commercial motorcycle when a policeman, along with other persons saw blood dripping from the sacks and demanded to see its contents," the witness disclosed.

A 40 year-old man has been sentenced to two years imprisonment for attempting to have sexual intercourse with a goat, by a Sharia Court at Riba town in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The convict, Rabo Mohammed was arrested by a team of policemen on patrol around the stadium in the town.
Prosecuting Police Officer, Idrisu Sule told the court that the accused was arrested with a stolen goat and two kids inside the township stadium while trying to have sexual intercourse with the goat.
The accused who pleaded guilty to the charges told the court that he was involved in the shameful act because of the sexual desire that was burning in him during and after the Ramadan fasting.
He told the court that he was married man with six children and was living in a single room because the other rooms in house had collapsed. He said his mother in-law was also staying with them which made it not convenient for him to have sex with his wife.

Hardly a day goes by without a report on a child defilement case in the media. According to child rights groups working on the issue, at least 10 girls under the age of 16 are defiled every day in the country.

They say that even though the cases reported in themselves are alarming, they constitute only about 10% of such abuses as the overwhelming majority of the cases are hushed.

The penalty for defilement was increased in the 1998 amendment to the Criminal Code (ACT 29) to a minimum of seven and a maximum of 25 years without an option of a fine.

Yet recent studies show that sexual abuse of children in Ghana is still alarmingly high.

Figures from the then Ministry for Women and Children Affairs (MOWAC) put the annual case of reported defilement cases at around 800 a year, but according to one of the groups [Light For Children Ghana] working to stop the practice, this is only a small portion of an alarming national catastrophe.

For this year alone, Ghana News Agency bulletins have been recording an average of about three defilement case a day.

The majority of the defilement cases are hushed, according to child psychologists, because in some case the victims do not understand what has happened to them or are afraid of being shamed or accused of being bad girls.

Some guardians also prefer to keep such incidence to themselves.

This is especially the case where the abusers happen to be family members. There have also been cases of neighbors, teachers, pastors and all sorts of people abusing girls some as young as two years.

There are instances where guardians go to the police, but later stop following the case and give up because they find the processes cumbersome, studies indicate.

Making the situation worse, according to Mrs Juliana Azumah, the last Minister for MOWAC, was that the over 50,000 children living and working on the country’s streets were often taken advantage of by sexual predators or run to commercial sex as way of making a living.

Also in certain parts of the country such as in parts of the Upper West Region, for instance, Action Aid Ghana, reports that an average of 50 young girls below the ages of 15 and 17 are abducted for marriage every year in the Jirapa, Lambussie/Karni and Sissala East districts.

Figures at the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) National Secretariat indicate that boys are also sometimes abused sexually, but the vast majority of the victims are girls.

Popular hiplife musician, Akyampong Deeba is in the grips of INTERPOL Ghana for defilement.

His arrest however did not come without drama, not because he was arrested by Police but because of the involvement of ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Arabian friend, Sheikh Ibn Abu Talib.

Deeba was invited to a 5 star hotel here in Accra under the pretext of attending a music audition for already established music stars willing to revive their ambitions. It was during this time when he was giving a free style of his famous 'Deeba' track that the INTERPOL officers came in to arrest him.

Deeba is alleged to have defiled a minor in the United Kingdom (UK), between 2006 till 2008 when he returned to Ghana from the United Kingdom.

After years of investigations on his actions, UK INTERPOL requested their counterparts in Ghana to help arrest him. That was when our reporter was contacted to help arrest the suspect who was in the country.

Anas (Queen Petra), was again in disguise, seated as a female member on the auditioning panel, in an elaborate black wig, high heel shoes, with artificial breasts, buttocks and face mask with detailed makeup. The face mask was produced by a movie props company in London, the United Kingdom.

He was dressed in a pink outfit laced with black flower designs. He had his red manicure, with red lipstick to match, a ruby necklace and bracelet, capped with shiny scarf. He also wore light brown slacks to match. Other members of the panel included a top television director, a member of the INTERPOL and Sheikh Ibn Abu Talib.

According to sources, Deeba returned to Ghana from United Kingdom late 2008 after living there with his fiancée. His fiancée was working on night shift, the reason why he moved in later to stay with the family.

There is also the issue of multiple identities on the part of the accused, who used several names amongst others such as: Richard Nimoh, Deeba Kofi Akyampong, Richard Nimoh Deeba and Deeba Kofi, same was the case with his dates of birth which varied between 1977 and 1979

The possible line of action is that INTERPOL Ghana would most likely extradite him to face the necessary charges in the UK.

16-year-old school dropout defiles nine-month-old girl

A 16-year-old school dropout from Winneba has been remanded in Padu Children’s Home by the Agona Swedru Magistrate Court for defiling a nine-month-old girl. His plea was not taken and he will reappear on February 19.

Briefing the court, presided over by Mr Kweku Baah Frempong, Police Chief Inspector Ivy Agadia said Madam Florence Arthur, the mother of the victim and also the complainant, resided with the suspect in the same vicinity at Winneba Victoria Road.

Chief Inspector Agadia said on February 4 at about 1410 hours Ayi visited a friend in the complainant’s house and saw the victim playing whilst the mother was asleep in the room.

The prosecutor said the suspect took the girl to an abandoned building behind the Winneba Prisons and had carnal knowledge of her.

During the act the girl bled profusely and the suspect took the child to the sea and washed her and brought her back to the mother.

The Chief Inspector said the mother detected that the daughter was bleeding and shouted for help.

A report was made to the police and the suspect was arrested.

Child prostitution is flourishing at Sekondi landing beaches and other suburbs of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis in the Western Region.

The Social Services and Gender Sub-Committee of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, at a meeting in Skondi, noted that minors aged between 10 and 17 years take their pimps to small kiosks at the beaches and pay GHc2.00 before engaging in sexual escapades with their patrons.

It cited NKotompo, Sekondi, New Takoradi and European Town in the metropolis as areas well-known for such immoral activities.

The Chairman of the Committee, Mr. John Davis, who is also the Assembly Member for Anaji West Electoral Area, expressed worry over the trend, and said the Committee would liaise with the various chief fishermen, assembly members and queen-mothers of the Fishmongers Association in those areas to stop the practice.

He also lamented that some children of school-going-age in coastal communities in the metropolis were reported to have abandoned the classroom for fishing.

Madam Josephine Cobbina, Assemble Member of Bankyease Electoral Area, near Takoradi, suggested that minors involved in fishing and prostitution should be educated on the ramifications of their actions.

Abuakwa 13-year-old boy killed over GHC350

One of the suspects arrested in connection with the murder of the 13-year-old boy in Abuakwa in the Ashanti Region has confessed to killing the boy because his mother owed him GHC350.

According Citi News' Ashanti Regional Correspondent, Betty Ohemma Agyemang, the suspect; Akwasi Adjei Abraham confessed the deed to the Police.

Meanwhile, the five other suspects who were arrested in connection with the murder have been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

The key suspect in the case, Akwasi Adjei Abraham, who was arrested last Saturday, was on Monday remanded into police custody.

The five will appear before the Mankranso Circuit court on Thursday.

The 13-year-old boy was killed when his family was attacked by some unknown assailants.

Eric Boateng, 18, and an illegal miner, has been sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment by the Nkawie circuit court for defilement resulting in a pregnancy.

He had defiled his 14-year-old victim in November, last year and pleaded guilty to the offence.

Police Detective Sergeant Jonas Adjei told the court presided over by Justice William Boampong that the convict and the girl live at Asakraka, a farming community in the Atwiam-Nwabiagya District.

He said in November, last year, Boateng lured the girl to her own elder brother’s room where he forcibly had sex with her.

He said months later, the parents detected that she was pregnant and when asked who was responsible, she mentioned the convict.

A formal report was made to the police and he was arrested meanwhile medical examination by doctors confirmed the pregnancy.

140 Ghanaians In British Prisons

About 140 Ghanaians are serving various sentences in penitentiaries across the United Kingdom (UK) currently.
One of the offences committed by most of the Ghanaians is breaching immigration laws of the UK.
Prof. Kwaku Danso-Boafo, Ghana High Commissioner, UK made the disclosure in an exclusive interview with DAILY GUIDE in London.
He said apart from immigration issues, some Ghana nationals also got themselves into trouble after going against sections of UK laws.

The Ghana High Commissioner said his outfit was usually updated about Ghanaians in UK prisons by the British government.
Prof. Danso-Boafo noted that the Ghana High Commission had been providing consular services to the Ghanaian prisoners.
He narrated that the High Commission usually engaged the services of prominent lawyers to defend these Ghanaians in court.
Apart from that, he noted that his outfit also paid regular visits to these prisoners to see how they were faring.

Prof. Danso Boafo noted again that the Ghana High Commission also worked assiduously to get in touch with the relations of the prisoners back in Ghana.
After briefing their family members, he said, the High Commission then served as a link between the prisoners and their family members back home in Ghana.
He urged Ghanaian nationals living in the UK to respect the laws of their host country so they did not get into trouble.
He entreated Ghanaian citizens in the UK to contribute their quota to the proper advancement of their host country.

The Ghana High Commissioner also warned Ghanaians against indulging in acts that could mar the name and pride of Ghana.
Prof. Danso-Boafo said as Ghanaian citizens, they were the ambassadors of the country in the UK; therefore they should live lifestyles that would strengthen the bond between Ghana and UK.
The Ghana High Commissioner to UK also disclosed that available statistics indicated that Ghanaian population in the UK had reached 46,000.
He said most of these Ghanaians were working to help develop their host country.
He disclosed that his outfit was constantly in touch with Ghanaian nationals in the UK, helping them when the need arose

The victims revealed that Nana Osei Kwame Ababio promised to add their relations to his traditional delegation or entourage to bring them to Canada but have since 2011 not fulfilled his side of the bargain and has bolted away with the cash.

According to sources, the chief turned visa contractor visited Toronto last two years after which he decided to start smuggling illegal immigrants into Canada.

He therefore entered into a contract with the victims who live in Toronto but wanted their husbands, wives, sisters, brothers and loved ones to join them.

They were made to pay between CAN$8,000 to CAN$10,000 dollars to cover processing of documents for visa, medicals, tickets and passport which they all paid in full.

The chief turned visa contractor told the victims that the Canadian embassy in Accra was prepared to grant up to 30 members of his retinue visa and wanted to use the opportunity offered him to cover members of the victims to get visa to Canada.

It turned out that this chief who can move the king of Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to attend events in his traditional area was only deceiving them.

Six people are accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in a credit-card scam that recruited fast-food workers to skim card numbers with an electronic reading device.

Central Ohio law officers and the Secret Service hope they put an end to the scheme by arresting the six yesterday and raiding two Columbus houses — at 1870 Hampstead Dr. and 1544 Kemper Rd., both on the North Side.

Seth Nyamekye, 30; Prince Dahome, 20; Kwabena M. Bonsu, 25; and Jaimee M. Mukama, 26, were arrested at the Hampstead Drive address. Jacques GK Daboni, 22, and Ayeshia A. Johnson, 19, were arrested in the Kemper Road house.

The six people are charged with felony theft or conspiracy to commit theft, said Lt. Paul Scowden of the Westerville police. They are immigrants from the African countries of Rwanda, Ghana and Guinea and are free while authorities decide whether to prosecute them in state or federal court, Scowden said.

He also said that more-serious charges are expected once investigators sift through the evidence seized from the two houses, including computers, gift cards, encoders and electronic reading devices known as “skimmers.”

Westerville police learned of the scam in October through reports from local businesses.

“We noticed that several customers were compromised in certain locations,” Scowden said.

The investigation found that fast-food workers would be given a few dollars for every credit-card number they skimmed with an electronic reading device. When the suspects got the numbers, they would use an encoder to imprint them on the black strip of a gift card. They would then use the card.

“I can’t give you an actual figure, but I’m pretty confident we’re talking in the hundreds of thousands of dollars,” Scowden said.

The Franklin County and Delaware County sheriff’s offices and Columbus, Delaware and Powell police all participated in the investigation.

The Ashanti region town of Juaso near Tepa has been thrown into a state of shock following a revelation that a 27 year old farmer has been having sex with his mother.

The act which is said to be consensual has allegedly been going on for months.

They have been fined by the traditional council to pacify the gods for the incestuous act.

An eyewitness account told Joy News the ‘affair’ has been going on for six months.

He named the man as Yaw Berko and the woman, Ama Osabimaa, 47.

The traditional council has confirmed the incident and imposed a fine of ¢100.00 as well as a bottle of gin and two sheep on them.

The Domestic Violence and Victims’ Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service in the Central Region is investigating a case in which a 22-year-old man impregnated his 19-year-old sister at Abura Abaka in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District.

After the sister had delivered, Ebenezer Aidoo is alleged to have threatened to beat his mother to death if she does not allow him to marry his sister as originally agreed.

Ebenezer told Joy FM’s Central Regional correspondent, Richard Kojo Nyarko that his mother collected GH¢40 from him for impregnating his sister out of wedlock and agreed to the relationship, therefore, he did not understand why she was now preventing them from getting married.

His sister, amid tears, added that she informed her mother when Ebenezer proposed love to her and she (the mother) asked her to agree.

Ebenezer said he would refer to the child as his nephew, even though he is his biological son.

Meanwhile, Ebenezer, his mother, and his sister (Ama Esumanba) have all been charged with incest and are currently in police custody.

Man guilty in credit, debit card theft plot that targeted Tulsa McDonald's customers

A 19-year-old native of Ghana pleaded guilty Friday to taking part in a conspiracy in which account numbers were stolen from credit and debit cards used at a Tulsa McDonald's.

Godlive Johnathan Tetty-Mensah also pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft in connection with the plot, which he agreed caused a total loss of more than $51,000 to "many" victims.

A U.S. Secret Service affidavit indicates that about 282 credit or debit card numbers were found in a search of a laptop computer that was seized when Tetty-Mensah and three other men were arrested in Ponca City in October for allegedly trying to buy merchandise with counterfeit cards.

A majority of the debit card accounts had been used at the Tulsa McDonald's at 71st Street and Yale Avenue, the document says.

Tetty-Mensah; Daniel Yaw Jefferson, 21; Stanjulfran Geovester Mensah, 21; and Bismark Baah, 20, were accused in an April 3 indictment of taking part in a plot that lasted from August 2011 until Oct. 16, 2011.

Tetty-Mensah stated in his plea agreement that last August he and Jefferson approached an individual with the initials H.J. at the McDonald's and gave him a credit card reader - known as a "skimmer."

"Daniel Jefferson and I would meet with H.J., download the skimmed numbers to a laptop computer, and then take those numbers and use a credit card reader/writer to create counterfeit credit and debit cards," Tetty-Mensah stated in his plea agreement.

The former McDonald's employee, whose full name is not disclosed in court documents, skimmed numbers for three weeks and received $600, two laptop computers and a video game system for his efforts, the document says.

Tetty-Mensah stated in his Friday plea agreement that fraudulent purchases were made in Oklahoma, Ohio, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Tennessee and Indiana as part of the conspiracy.

Baah pleaded guilty Monday to an aggravated identity theft charge. U.S. District Judge James Payne is scheduled to sentence both men July 30.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Souders said Friday that Baah faces a mandatory minimum sentence of two years, while Tetty-Mensah faces between two and seven years in prison.

Charges against Jefferson and Geovester Mensah are still pending.

The water, which was symbolically meant to be a contact object or point of contact in exercising their faith, could have been distributed in an ordered manner to avoid this catastrophe. It is a shame Africans are not professional enough in all areas of life.

The emphasis should have been placed in faith in Christ and not so much focus on contact objects. There were only specialist occasions when such objects were used in the Gospel with regard to Paul and the handkerchiefs; this was not meant to be standard practice as we can see in the new Testament. Africans always go over the top with exaggeration of everything they read. Pastors should not exploit the people with application of principles in the Bible. They should focus on preaching the gospel and saving souls as has been commanded; not their own version of fancy methods; today it has resulted in the death of 4 people; this is not what Christ anticipated; people are not meant to die on hearing the Gospel; they are meant to be saved

One Sunday a pastor told his congregation that the church needed some extra money and asked the people to prayerfully consider giving a little extra in the offering plate.
He said that whoever gave the most would be able to pick out three hymns.
After the offering plates were passed, the pastor glanced down and noticed that someone had placed a $1,000 bill in offering.
He was so excited that he immediately shared his joy with his congregation and said he'd like to personally thank the person who placed the money in the plate.
A very quiet, elderly, saintly lady all the way in the back shyly raised her hand.
The pastor asked her to come to the front. Slowly she made her way to the pastor.
He told her how wonderful it was that she gave so much and in thanksgiving asked her to pick out three hymns.
Her eyes brightened as she looked over the congregation, pointed to the three handsomest men in the building and said,

Everybody please take a step back and a critical look at this sad event. Where were the spiritual powers of the so called pastor or the power of the holy water during the stampede to revive or heal the poor and misinformed victims? If he has the power he claims to the extent of selling adulterated water then let him bring back the dead and heal the injured or face the full rigors of the law. This is ample evidence that he is human with absolutely no special powers than other Ghanaians and therefore did not see this coming. As the perpetrator who created the environment for the stampede, any civilized society would have had this lunatic behind bars by now. It is a regretable to say that, people ought to lose their lives only for holy water. Holy water doesn't put food on the table, pay chronic medical bills, school fees and others. Regretably, some ghanaians have signed a spiritual contract with bogus churches and their preachers to fix economic and financial hardship facing average ghanaian. The condition is not a spiritual, it is the lack of social and economic development conditions which is out TB Joshua's spiritual control.

Ghanaians need to be committed, dedicated, patriotic, and honest, be discipline and stop expecting any super natural powers to work miracles in their lives. Let’s make a move and God in his own time will bless us. I believe in Prayer more than you any think I do but my own upper room is where communicate with God apart from my church. Some of you go to so many different pastors and Malam that you end up being demonized. Rushing and losing my life over Holy water? Anyway is not up to me to judge. That’s God’s position. My contribution is something else.
I had the chance to offer my opinion regarding the current crime situation in the Kumasi City, on one of the Kumasi Radio Stations, and my answer was only one word. INDISCIPLINE, Period. That is the root cause of the entire problem in Ghana or maybe Africa as a whole. Just think about that.
The leaders, the Police and the citizens are all guilty and not until some discipline is instilled in the society we have a long way to go. The criminals don’t respect the police, the driver don’t either and the police know they’ve lost their reputation and yet they don’t really care because they think the politician are “chopping” the money so if they can do theirs on the High ways and by ways by collecting GHc1.00 from the drivers why not do it. Talk about the Custom officers at the country’s point of entries and you want to erase the word indiscipline from the Ghanaian vocabulary.
The civil servant offices are another nasty area. Some say their government is in power and other say they don’t care. The passive citizens. For others, this is the time for looting. Not far from where I live , around the UST campus I was directed to the house of the current NKAWIE MCE’s newly built but uncompleted house and I was shocked. Within three years that this man assumed office he has been able to put up such huge building. The people in the Area are angry over that but everybody is scared to say something for fear of intimidation. FYI this house is next to the house of a Kumasi Based pharmaceutical shop owner at DEUAKO after Ayeduase. BNI this is for you if you think you are not doing politics with your organization. Gbevlo Lartey this is just one little information for you. Actually I will post the video on Utube soon because Ghanaian security Agencies are quick to get defensive when it come to their area of incompetence.
Another act of indiscipline hit me at the Kotoka Airport so much I almost opened my mouth. I know you understand what I mean. How can a whole immigration officer be begging for money from a traveler. All because I was possessing two IDs one of which makes my entry into Ghana visa free and did know what he was thinking the officer was just wasting my time. Anyway all he could say was what are leaving behind for me. I retorted quickly: Nothing.
Anyway the indiscipline goes on and on and we are all guilty. Ghana must wise up. God is not coming down to do it for us.

Look, no man of God can do anything for anyone if the person doesn't have faith himself/herself. Jesus used to say, "your faith has healed you" so you can even be afar and receive your breakthrough if your faith is active. Ghana must be blamed. On the other hand too, if someone should get up and oppose to the entry of a man of God, the so called believers in Ghana will termed that person as being witch or wizard. As long as Ghanaians continue to worship "Personalities" like TB Joshuah etc, such tragic incidents will continue to occur. GOD made all things including "Holy Water" However, our citizens continue to believe that certain pastors, bishops, arch bishops , all man made titles should be susbstituted for salvation and blessings instead of Jesus Christ or Allah. The word of GOD has become a business, really big business with the so called leaders of these so called "mega churches" getting fat off the backs of the average Ghanaian. Sometimes i think these entities are more focussed on wealth creation and self promotion rather than slavation and winning of souls through Jesus Christ. It is therefore no wonder that a TB Joshuah can amass such power in Ghana from our leadership who have also been fooled. Wake Up Ghana. Study the bible from Genesis to Revelation and know that no man can take the place of Almiighty GOD.
