  You are absolutely correct! But the problem is that all the various Administrations seem to have preyed on the proceeds from the Divestiture. They have known that it is one area the Public has long taken its eyes off, or have no clue how to assess what must be due the Nation. So, it is an easy prey to feed on to fill illicit financial holes.

  Their mindset is that Ghana is their personal property and they have the right to steal everything that belongs to Ghana.
  
  The top brass of the NDC govt allows NDC foolsoldiers to steal public toilets,lorry parks,markets,toll booths e.t.c. and they concentrate on white collar crimes.

How come that you buy something and the person selling on behalf of government is not giving or collecting the money for Government? You hear a chunk of money collected at our ports do not reach government coffers. Somebody steals my mobile phones and decides to make part-payment and after six months I do not get this money and the thief is not prosecuted. Is this all? No many more others! CRY, GHANA!

  This is typical of how our Gov'ts have managed our Funds over the years. It has long been suggested that all the 300 plus State Enterprises would be sold off and we would not be able to realize even a quarter of what we spent in building them.
  
  Not only do we lose investment returns but also crucial quality jobs that could help solve our unemployment situation, especially among our College grads. Stories abound to depict how poorly many of these Businesses fare after being sold off to incompetent and unpatriotic private entities.
  
  If we really want to maximize returns from these Companies, we should not just look at how much we divest them for. We should ensure they are taken over by truly competent entrepreneurial entities, who also have the necessary patriotic streak to grow the businesses for both profits and employment expansion.
  
  These former State Businesses must fulfill the original partial but vital goal of replacing much of our dependence on imports of the products and services they are supposed to churn out.

  Is the government aware of the harsh economic conditions in the country? It is as if no business is going on or better still as if the country has stopped trading externally or internally. If government is aware of the sudden slump of the economy what is it doing to salvage it from its downward spiral? Something has to be done and done immediately for it looks as if our economy has gone into recession and no one seems to care. In the UK when government saw that trading had slowed down during the recent recession, they did what they called 'Quantitative Easing' to prevent a total collapse of the British economy. Our leaders must know that there shall be no tax if people are not trading and if Ghana Revenue Authority cannot collect tax then very soon government cannot pay workers and develop parts of the economy and the country as a whole. WAKE UP NDC! WAKE UP MAHAMA!IT'S NOT ENOUGH TO CLAIM POLITICAL VICTORY WHICH IS BEING CONTESTED ANYWAY. YOU'LL BE JUDGED ON HOW WELL YOU HANDLE THE ECONOMY!

  Ghanaians should stop being too timid to take back our beloved country from nation destroyers we trust with our mandate who do not perform and sell every tax payers industries and enterprises to enrich themselves.Mahama unjustily stole tax payers money US$170million deposite at swiss privat bank + Ghc600million government over spending without parliament approve + Ghc8.7million,Cuba train Ghanaians doctors fees inflate from US$5,000 to US$50,000 + not to mention embrea military planr purchase saga and not divesture proceeds unpaid to national treasury.If opposition in parliament will not police these thiefs and allow them to steal and destroy our country they will not get our mandate.This is the time all Ghanaians have to come together to take a lesson from Tunisia and Egypt demonstration uprising when they finally understood Rawlings slogan "Ghana people make you wake up make fight for your right we no go sit make the cheat us every day"The solution is to go to the street in thousands to force this visionless corrupt administration out of power like what Tunisians did to rescue their country from corrupt ruling administration.All Ghanaians who love the future of their children and unborn to have jobs should join the crusade to demonstrate to show love for the country.

  It is hilariously funny to read about the thievery taking place right under our collective noses while the very same bunch of powerless Ghanaians keep wasting their time over the outcome of some meaningless election results. I know some of the air-heads will try to justify the importance of fair elections when they have conveniently forgotten that the current parliament still seats NPP members. If these high end stealing is important to the party in the minority why have they not gone to bat to get needed answers?
  The NPP have had time to go on boycott runs, demonstrations with meaningless outcomes but the very things that affect the poor they choose to ignore. What this piece of article is clearly telling all you gullible Ghanaians is, the NPP like the NDC is interested in power to be able to steal just as much as the NDC is doing now. The NPP as we know have never been interested in good government or the safeguard of government property. We are the fools and they serve as our circus masters.

  I couldn't agree with you more! There is absolutely no difference between the NDC and the NPP, and as long as Ghanains keep voting for either party the looting will continue bigtime! Everybody in Ghana knows the only "job growth" we are getting is that of the politician. Their numbers have been increased, and so have their pay and benefits gone up.
  
  I will disagree with you on the question of the merits of the election challenge in the courts. It's a good thing. Important legal precedents will be set, even if the petitioners do not prevail. These precedents will contribute to fairer elections in Ghana.
  
  The worst effect of the divestiture scam is the growing graduate unemployment in Ghana. NDC destroyed over 300 enterprises set up by Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah. The funny thing is that all those who pushed for divestiture are on the state payroll and they have never worked a day for any private company and neither have they created a single job in Ghana!
