ALL MAJOR CITIES AND REGIONAL CAPITALS IN GH MUST HAVE THIS. WE NEED INTERSECTING, VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL STREETS. THIS WILL ENABLE FOR ORDER, EFFICIENCY IN GH. A FEW OF THE SERVICES THAT STAND TO BENEFIT INCLUDE POSTAL SERVICES, REVENUE COLLECTION, CRIME AND POLICING, IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES, INCREASED FOREIGN INVESTORS, ETC....NOT TO MENTION THE PRICES OF REAL ESTATE AS WELL. GH COMPANIES MUST ALSO BE EMPOWERED TO LEARN AND PROVIDE THESE SERVICES AS WELL IN RURAL AREAS.

Yes, indeed we havent got time, but so far it seems we have only managed to learn to copy the mistakes of others. Looking around us confirms this fact. This is basically because we have not even realized that our circumstances are different from any other so we need peculiar homegrown solutions to our peculiar development initiatives. If at this stage we need to rely on foreigners to come down here and name our streets, then damn it, it suggests that we are still-born.
I agree in Toto with Yaovi on his concerns about why we cant seem to do anything for ourselves.
I really find it ludicrous that we again have to run back to the evil slave master to help us name our own streets. Aba! I will not be surprised to see in the near future, foreign consultants being contracted to come and show us how to cook palm soup and play highlife music.
Mark my word, when the job starts, they will have Ghanaian workers doing all the dirty and real work whilst the Dr Boakye-Danquah and his slave masters will sit in air-conditioned offices and get the lions share of the remuneration.
So that Dr Boakye Danquah (note the name Danquah) who calls himself a consultant, isnt he ashamed of himself for getting himself involved in this obvious scam? Where did he go to school to earn that doctorate? Instead of fronting for, or rather pimping for some imperialists to come and rape his country as others have done before him, why cant he use the brains that God gave him to initiate a unique street-naming strategy for Ghana? This is just like the old story of importing tinned fish, maize and chicken when we have much much better local varieties of fish, corn, chicken and other foods.
The only palpable reason for those corrupt officials at the Ministry of Local Govt to embark on this laughable scheme is so that they can also skim-off some percentage from the fees paid to the foreign contractors into their private pockets.
The long and short of it all is that we are running an impracticable neo-colonial political system that puts the interest of people and development aside, in favor of greed, selfishness and under-development.

Ghana is a small country with a small population. We can live better and longer by making an effort to eat fresh food that are devoid of genocidal preservative toxins that will kill us sooner than later, with our horrendous health delivery system. Of course tinned foods, take-aways and restaurants are always there for those who have less regard to the life that God gave them.
Yes putting our locations on google GPS is a fine fine idea but you know what? The Fire service may just make it to your house when you have a fire but they wouldnt have water in their trucks because the taps have been closed for months and there is no fire hydrant near where you live. As for the Police they will only come if you can send a taxi to come and pick them up - that is after refusing to answer to your emergency calls for over an hour. Then the Post Office may not bring your mail because they have been stolen at the sorting office. So there!

How do we make the citizenry accountable to our omissions and commissions?
How do we provide credits and loans to the people and feel secure that they will be responsible?
How do we conduct polls and not suspect that is going to be fraught with irregularities such as over-voting, no verification, no vote is going to be adhered.
