May Osagyfo rest in peace. Our current leadership in African are corrupt and cares very little or not at all of the national interest. And so, in the midst plenty Ghanaians are still hungry and poor! Africa indeed need leadership that will look inward for the solution to their problems. Economically Africa is still colonized and until we deliberately liberate ourselves, Our state could poorer than we see! Until Ghana and africa begin to use their human and natural resources to their own advantaged, we shall forever remain colonized!

What we need here are strong leaders in Africa, leaders who with or without strong institutions, will be able to counteract the unending subterfuge of our development by the Western imperialist countries. They know that strong leaders are the greatest threat to their greedy exploitation of African resources that is why they have continued to undermine, eliminate or kill all our nationalist leaders. You remember what the great Bob marley said in his Redemption song? " ......How long shall they kill our prophets, whilst we stand by and look ...."

You say "The process of change is on course." Oh! really? Where? What I see is that through the manipulation of our pro-imperialist patented institutions, we are gradually and steadily being driven into total and abject subjectivity to the point of pure slavery.

I would also be very grateful if you can explain to all how we can possibly get true and genuine leaders by the comedy of western type elections that we hold here.

Finally even if Kwesi Pratt is also part of the problem for propping up imperialist stooges - a fact which I agree with, that does not mean that the truth he is quoted as saying above should be ignored.

People who have read some of my comments and hated my guts for calling it like I see it do know my beef has always been with our so-called educated and political elite.
Let’s look at Kufour's 8year legacy not through the eyes of party politics or tribal zealotry that shows no sign of abating. A so-called Oxford educated Kufour deemed it British schooled wise to sell off Ghana's entire telecommunications infrastructure because of poor management. He also forced the demise of Ghana airways while he continued the sale of government lands and the erection of a presidential palace that should be an insult to any Ghanaian with a degree/diploma in architecture. If this is the best we get in our educated class we cannot then blame civilized nations for taken what educated fools offer them in return for the pennies they have to pay. Why do we include in the retirement packages of presidents, some free airplane rides around the globe? Has Kufour learned anything of value or does he still negotiate to sell more of our resources like our oil? We are brain dead and that is our downfall.
The desire to collect meaningless degrees that we cannot apply in Africa but for which our uneducated and under-educated public see as basis to shower respect on degree holders continue to allow stupidity to reign in Ghana and elsewhere on the continent of Africa. Look here if governors of individual states could join together to form the United States, Africans could do the same to ensure resource sharing and collective power at any global forum We chose to pooh-pooh these ideas and ideals. The desire for our elementary intellect bunch to be masters of meaningless countries where everyone carries a tin cup waiting on manna from the civilized world to give us sustenance means more to our leaders than allow wisdom to reign supreme.

Mr Pratt's position goes to emphasise an age long problem, the MENTAL BANKRUPTCY OF THE AFRICAN. This phenomenon is the bane of the continent. European adventurism in Africa has permanently crippled the continent such that we are firmly anchored in the dark ages with no clear signs of us ever leaving this debilitating stage of human development.The stages of reformation, renaissance and the industrial revolution which liberated Europe from the clutches of poverty, hunger and disease is not even on the horizon on the continent. Every aspect of life in africa is locked in a neo-colonial casket, the educational system which mis-educates us, the political system which works for capitalist interests,the non availability of science education, scientific research, technology and technical innovation the core strategies for engendering a revolution in any human developmental effort makes africa a joke.Africa definitely needs a new breed of leaders with a high level of consciousness, imbued with a sense of science education, scientific research,and technical innovation to africans the needed ideas and technique to embark on meaningful development
