When Kwaku Baako informed us about the atrocities of Kwesi Pratt during PNDC Regime, some of us did not believe until the truth was confirmed during the NRC. Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Tony Aidoo should go back and get all his public pronouncements played back to his hearing, and he will know how very nauseating he sounds when he speaks. He himself is bereft of any decurum. His speach is full of abusive language and unspeakable garbage. Today, he is talking about broken down social decorum and respect? Ahhba !!!. listen to the 'Pot calling the Kettle Black.' Tony Aidoo should revise his own notes and style and begin to shown himself as a role model that our youth can emulate. His lawlessness and disregard for rules and sound reasoning demostrated in his fowl speech and his purchase of confiscated state resources for a pittance is the peak of indicipline from a supposed government leader. He should go and wash himself in the river before he comes to exhort our youth to do same.

The U.S Bureau of Prisons has stated that ex-Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkoranza North, Eric Amoateng, who is currently doing time in CI Moshannon Valley prison in the USA, for trafficking 136 pounds of heroin, valued at over $5 million, would be released on July 30, 2014.

Judge David G. Tragger, delivered the judgment on December 12, 2007 and sentenced the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ex-MP to a 10-year jail term.

The MP was arrested on December 11, 2005 in the U.S.

Two years ago, ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor thwarted investigations by the Narcotic Controls Board (NACOB) into the assets of Eric Amoateng and Nii Okai Adjei, his accomplice, for the purposes of confiscating them to the state in accordance with PNDC law 236.

Eight months into the administration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, assets investigations on Eric Amoateng and Nii Okai Adjei have not been concluded, let alone going through the tortuous journey of confiscating them through the court. The terms of reference of the investigations for NACOB included identifying properties of both Eric Amoateng and Nii Okai Adjei who were imprisoned in respect of the heroine.

The investigations, which were earnestly begun by NACOB, were halted by President John Kufuor when he appointed a Minister, who was questioned by NACOB investigators in respect of the arrest of Amoateng, to head the Interior Ministry which supervised NACOB.

Before the investigations were halted, a NACOB report had already located the assets of Nii Okai Adjei, and had indicated that they intended to investigate the assets of Eric Amoateng.

An initial report from NACOB stated that: “So far, three residential properties have been identified to be belonging to Nii Okai Adjei. They are located in Teshie Nungua catchment area. Efforts are being made to travel to Nkoranza to conduct assets investigations on Eric Amoateng. After the identification and location, Narcotic Control Board intends to pursue the assets for confiscation in accordance with PNDC Law 236.”

Nii Okai Adjei, who has already served his prison term, has returned to Ghana to enjoy his properties. Follow-up investigations by NACOB on possible accomplices in Ghana, led them to question a former sitting minister of the previous government, regarding his association with a certain George Owusu, a name which kept coming up in their investigations.

The NACOB investigations had revealed that, that George Owusu, had direct dealings with Eric Amoateng in the drug trade. It emerged that NACOB, following intelligence, interrogated a certain George Owusu, who had shipped ceramics from the US to a foundation established by the said minister.

NACOB, suspected that the George Owusu man could be the one who shipped the heroin on behalf of Amoateng. Before the assets investigations could be concluded, former President Kufuor announced that the minister, who had been officially questioned by Narcotic Board investigators in respect of the Amoateng case, much to his displeasure, had been appointed as the Minister of Interior.

Narcotic Control Board is under the Ministry of Interior.

The investigations into assets were therefore abandoned and the government has since then ended the journey to continue the process of investigations and confiscation of the property of both Eric Amoateng and Nii Okai Adjei.

Not long after the Minister took office, the Interior Ministry announced that five kilos of cocaine in the custody of NACOB being part of the 30kilos seized from the MV Benjamin was missing. The casualties of the missing cocaine incidentally were the officers involved in questioning the Minister in respect of the Amoateng probe.

They were asked to go on leave to pave way for investigations.

Three years on the officers have still not been recalled to office though no report on the missing cocaine has seen the light of the day. Eight months into the NDC government’s administration, the officers are still at home, whist investigations into the assets of both Nii Okai and Eric Amoateng have not been done.

The NDC had insisted on a proper investigation into the Amoateng case.

People said whatever they wanted without looking over their shoulders as to who was watching what/who. All these times, there was serenity until 2008 when there was to be a successor to Prez Kufuor, when NDC had decided by hook or crook it had to win power from NPP. Cereal callers started insulting the President and his ministers all in the name of freedom of speech. Topping it all was NDC shocking the world with the election of a Propaganda Secretary. To tell lies as truth. How does Tony Aidoo expect a Child or an older person take you to be if he comes to realize what you've been feeding him with all these while is but a lie? When the Judiciary is weak and corrupt, all that Tony Aidoo highlighted multiplies at a faster rate.
You have a society filled with many fake lawyers and when they are challenged to prove they are real some wings of the Judiciary jumps to their rescue claiming it is not necessary. Why won't they allow the law to take it cause if they are really members of the legal fraternity and understands the place of rule of law in nation building?
Armed robbers, fraudsters and some public servants and private sector operatives now believe in bending the rules of their sectors as the best way of doing business than they believe in the right way. As a matter of fact, they believe doing business following the laid down rules and regulations is the worst way out now.
Individuals can get up from their drunken state every morning to spit trash on radio and get commended by their ignorant followers, all because they belong to the same colour of a group.
You see people put themselves together overnight disrespecting Acronyms in the name of a pressure group to spit nonsense all over the airwave. They leave not their stupidity on the airwaves; they go as far as besieging offices of high profile state institutions making foolish demands as if they are the only ones living in the country that needs attention, support and protection. What happened to the channel of communication in the public sectors, especially the security and judiciary? All thrown to the dogs and paving way for indiscipline and stupidity.
All these is happening under the very nose of the Chief Justice and no any shake up or reform on her part to streamline things. Is the Chief Justice happy with the constant allegations of various illegal compromises and bribery in the Judiciary? The ripple effect is what is sweeping the entire nation.
The tone of some public office holders does not help the situation at all. Instead of them seeing crimes as a serious issue, talk seriously against it and support the efforts of the security services, they rather chose to lay blame on the door step of the president and the party in power just to gain cheap political points. How would the criminals not be encouraged knowing they have the support of one party to advocate for them. Some I have learnt even orchestrate the crimes to their benefit.
It is about time the president stamp out this lawlessness once and for all, irrespective of the culprits, for sometimes you have to sacrifice partisan political gain for the good of the country if the players on the other side won't. Severely punish or ask for anybody who breaks the law to be punished!

When party foot soldiers take the law into their own hands by locking out some government offices who questions them?

I believe Mr. Aidoo knows the reason why these wrongs go unpunished but he dare not point it out. You see the time that Ghana was disciplined and courteous was the time before Jerry Rawlings. Eversince Jerry Rawlings took over the country all the good qualities that Mr. Aidoo has talked about have been vanishing one by one. Rawlings brought the PDCs and literally coached them to be disrespectful to the point of even beating people their father's age in the streets; all in the name of the so-called revolution. So no wonder there is indiscipline because most of the current youth were either born or grew up during Rawlings time and that is what they learnt from Rawlings and his cronies who ruled the country for nearly twenty years.

Even as I say it I know it will not work because what about the judiciary, MPs, Ministers, Customs plus more -the corruption and lawlessness is both vertical and horizontal and everything is tainted. Go back and read the Bible and believe we have too many churches with false Pastors or Preacher; Men marrying men and women marrying women; Politicians thinking of making money in the first two of their four years elected into office; Chiefs selling land for money to allow people destroy our rich land as surface mining; people killing for money; women are more adventurous than calling themselves prostitutes; and many more that cannot be stopped. How many Law makers do you think do much to change what you suggest? They listen but do not do much. The Bible predicts the end of the world is at hand when "nations raise arms against nations, false preachers use God's name for their own self-interest and so on. Believe you in me - it is hard to observe the good old days when the elderly are back to school in "mass education" era. They are destroying the Nation that gained independence through blood and toil of our forefathers! The youth and for that matter don't have much problem! They are only following examples of their leaders. Until those at the top CHANGE for the best, Ghana may have a long way to go with Democracy! eg. how do you expect your son to stop drinking "akpeteshie" whereas he sees you drinking it every day? There is a saying that: "those who must rule should first learn how to obey". The solution for lawlessness is simple, leaders should respect and obey the laws of the land. Favoritism gives way to those at top walking away from crimes committed against the State in many quarters! The innocent should not be suffering for the criminals because of their high positions! Who is controlling Ghana? Is it not NDC? Why don't you tend your own soil and stop disturbing the ordinary Ghanaian? Look at the spate of corruption under NDC-cronism, brother using influence of brother in power to borrow moneys from banks, running the banks down and literally refusing to pay back the loan. Tony Aidoo is alleged to have drawn his pistol to shoot somebody.
