I mean it's just a. Show off because none of these leaders are not able to govern his/her country well; how can he or she think about AU. Talking about the so called inter regional six lane highways from Nigeria, Togo, Ghana,'Ivory Coast etc.etc; whom are these leaders deceiving or do they think Africans are fools and for that matter Ghanaians are stupid. A government that cannot construct highways within the country is now proposing a highways within the Ecowas countries. Are they really serious. It's been over 4 years of Mahama's government and no highways has been commissioned as a completed. Mr Mahama don't deceive ECOWAS leaders as u have been doing to Ghanaians for over 4 years now as nothing good will come out of it. We Ghanaians call it mere talk as we know u very well than any member country in West Africa. So please just think about the completion of all highways in Ghana before setting your eyes on the so called Trans-Ecowas highways. Please Mr President be bold and tell them the truth, until your country is satisfied with all projects on hand, you cannot embark on such project; hence the Ecowas project should be postponed until further notice. Water and electricity are the responsibility of each country's government. The Channel Tunnel which links a number of European countries has transformed transport and trade in Europe.

You cannot say because it would take along time to build, it is not important or should not be a priority. If we had started this 50 years ago, can you imagine where we would have been as a continent?

It would have been better if the four countries had planned to develop marine and rail transport in west africa to enhance movement of people ,goods and services because its cheaper,more volume and capacity,less pollution,cost effective to construct and less prone to accidents ,hijacks and thefts.But expansion in road transport infrastruction will only see more cars and trucks on roads making congestion and enviromental pollution worse,less volume and capacity of goods and service movements,increase in accidents,hijacks ,thefts and deaths and many more hence the prefered transport project should have been rail or marine transport development.

Reliable public transportation in terms of buses and railways will reduce traffic jams in the city and make it easier for those in the rural areas to transport food and other wares to the markets at a reduced cost. That will also help reduce the number of road accidents because a lot of thode junk cars will be off the road. Simple common sense!!!

Let us ask Mahama what he with his grandiose STX housing scheme? He only managed to get us to settle with the Koreans to the tune of millions for breaking the "contract"!

We have the basics to worry about - water and electricity delivery, then sanitation through proper sewage engineering construction, and of course, renovating and upgrading, as the case may be, our transportation infrastructure - as you have correctly pointed out.

I just saw a listing of the 25 of the best beaches in the world. Besides one beautiful one in Cape Town and two equally splendid ones in the Seychelles, there was none, zero in any part of Africa. Hey Ghanaians let us work one getting one of our many beaches included next time. It will of course mean a rigorously enforced law forbidding putting refuse and human waste on our entire coast line. And then persuading our neighbors to do the same. Can we do this?
