My comment here has no political affiliation but objectivity. To my dismay, the action taken by the BNI to arrest and detain the alleged suspect in regard to a photo collage of the sitting President, His Excellency John D. Mahama, on arrival (Omari Wadie) at KIA, is beyond BNI`s capacity.

This, a civil case `libel` (defamation) and as such, His Excellency, the President, solely, is obliged to sue the suspect. On the other hand, had the suspect`s arrest been on orders from the president, anyone from his cabinet ministers or someone from the ruling government, then, that is sheer abuse of office and should not be tolerated. Where is Mother Ghana heading to?NO INSULTS PLEASE!

The truth will out. If they have the technology to detect who first published it then they should launch a thorough investigation. This photo and video has been around for some months now - long before the 2012 election.

Using Wadie as a scapegoat will not assist matters at all. It will only create tension, anger and bitterness.

Several people use other people's profiles to create mischief and send all sorts of images and publications. Now is the time to clean up our politics.

Most of the ones who peddled nasty and false information were rewarded with various posts including deputy ministerial positions. That has made the politics of insults a lucrative job for some. Ghanaians should not sacrifice personality cult for freedom of expression. If the president feels offended he should go to court and seek redress.

This is nothing but Omarie excising his right to freely express his opinion about the president. It may be in bad taste, hey, that is what democracy is for. We should not allow the removal of the military dictatorship of the late 1970s to be replaced a despot called Mahama.

Look a writer once wrote: : "Nazis came for for the Jews and we did not talk because we are not Jews; they came the Czechs and we did nothing because we are not Czechs, then they went after the Russians and Britain, and the whole wide world was set ablaze."

Those who will aquiesce with the BNI and Mahama's bidding will soon find themselves on the wrong side of history.

My fellow Ghanaians, Omari Wadie has not offended the constitution - the supreme law of our land. He is only alleged to have photo-shopped somebody's imaged believed to be that of John Mahama.

I do not have all the facts, but Mahama is beginning to behave like he was not in Ghana on June 4th, 1979. I hope he comes back early to celeberate the June 4th with Jerry John and his cadres. But if he does not, then I will say he has betrayed the course of our revolution.

Ghana arise and stop this personality cult Mahama is trying to curve for himself. This will be over our dead bodies. No one person in Ghana is above the law including Omari Wadie and John Dramani Mahama. He has a constitutional right to sue Wadie in court for libel and scandal if he has the facts that the said image is his. That is up to him and the court of law to decide. Does Ghana not have too much to consider except such follishness? People are complaining of domsor, domsor, lack of adequate water supply, galamesey by Chinese undocumented migrants, ritual murders and a host of others. Is this what BNI should be preoccupied with when there are more serious economic crimes going on in the country? The BNI have erred in arresting Omari. It is wrong and we must stop this nonsense. I am an NDC card bearing member but Ghana will not.

I repeat, never again allow dictatorship to flourish on our doorstep. Somebody should take BNI to court.

This is suppression of freedom of the press. It has nothing to do with violating the national security of the country.

This, a civil case `libel` (defamation) and as such, His Excellency, the President, solely, is obliged to sue the suspect. On the other hand, had the suspect`s arrest been on orders from the president, anyone from his cabinet ministers or someone from the ruling government, then, that is sheer abuse of office and should not be tolerated. NO INSULTS PLEASE!

We have illegal armed Chinese migrants distroying our water bodies and forests with impunity, and the BNI are laughing with them. The last time I checked, the designated Minister, Mr Fuseini invited Chinese delegates to Ghana to ask them if it's ok to deport their nationals. This smack of inferiority complex and gross stupidity which is beyond comprehension!!!

BNI doesn't even know their responsibilities to the state. How could a so called doctored picture of a President, in a democracy, be taken as a security threat enough to cause the arrest a suspected citizen?

The BNI has now become a wing of NDC to harass and intimidate the citizens of the Ghana . From the look of things the security agency has become so politicise that its no longer worth ithe purpose as national security outfit.
Just yesterday, I read about a group affiliated with NDC calling on BNI to arrest Mr Omari Wadie for posting a picture of the president in a compromised posture on the Internet .
The mere fact that this group called for the arrest of Mr Wadie and it has been carried out by them, makes the agency the poodle of NDC.
If indeed if Mr Wadie was involved, am not holding any brief for him. As a politician, he must play by the rule. Our politics must be clean and decent. Politicians must live above such childish behaviours.
Having said that, it's not up to the BNI to jump on any issue to make arrest. This simply is a police matter. That is why we have Ghana Police Service. The BNI are there for very serious crimes like terrorism, where groups seek to blow up our Akosombo Dam, where people throw bombs to kill masses of our population . Where there is real threat to the very foundation of Ghana.
A picture depicting President Mahama bonking a woman is no threat to the foundation of Ghana ! The President will command respect only through how he comports himself as a leader of Ghana .
For the NDC to try to use the BNI to bully the people of Ghana into submission is a very dangerous way to go. Ghana is not for NDC neither is the BNI. BNI should stay above party politics for the unity of our country.
