"Addison asks how come the total ballots in the box will be more than the ballots issued and what name is given to those figures which are in excess.

Nketia says people are not searched before voting and there is a possibility of people going into the booth with foreign materials. So there can always be unidentified materials in the box which when sorted will ensure equity between ballots issued the papers in the box."

Addison asks witness to read CI 72 Regulation 21. Nketia reads: The commission shall not later than 3 months compile a provisional register and present to the parties involved in elections.

Addison insists the NPP was not given that list. Nketia says daily print outs were given to all parties which had all the information on provisional register.

Addison says the daily prints outs to which the witness keeps referring to had no photographs on them. Nketia rebuts by saying since 1992, provisional registers had never come with photographs.

Tsatsu Tsikata messed up the NDC defense by admitting there were irregularities at certain polling stations and down played serial numbers which is seriously part of documentation any court will admit as evidence and since Asiedu Nketia is adding insults to injuries by messing up NDC's case the way he answered certain questions which I know most of the Judges sitting on the case will later on discuss laugh and call him an "idiot" because he is thinking he was in a Banking hall instead of a courtroom.

What are you talking about? That is not the law. The foreign material he is talking about is extra ballot papers and we don't take some of the votes out to make up for the ballots issued but the whole votes in that particular polling station is thrown out.

The idea and methodology is simple you can't give a particular number to anyone because its not serial numbers EC is using to identify the polling stations.
It's just common sense but you just have to analyse these issue out ...

It's just common sense but you just have to analyse these issue out of party politice to understand the anology.
Example polling station name suntreso primary B if in kumasi first will have the region code F1 the polling station code say SP26002. You can't link this to serial numbers because you had to write and join all the numbers after the polling to create the number on the so-called pink sheet to read F1-SPB26002 then all the agents will sign to confirm the polling numbers then return to the EC's office by the returning officer.
This in any sense can't be classified as serial number as this is not backcoded in any data base as serial numbers will do.
Let be factural in our basic analysis to emphasis a point well of wisdom than just politricks.

I can used it every where in the world, where it is accepted. Can you tell me, that card can not be traced back to which specific branch of the bank I picked it from? That is why it has those long codes. It spells out the country, bank and branch. If you understand the coding of Banking systems, you can easily trace it back to where that card was issued. Please put your logical thinking caps on. I beg all of us whether NPP or NDC. We don't have to support any thing coming from some one because he is from our party without scrutinizing it, because what we accept today will be the path for tomorrow and we will reap them. This case is going to change the course of Ghana. It costs money to do that and if Mosquito's interpretation is correct, the EC should be held to account for wasting our money on unimportant serial numbers.

My hunch tells me that Asiedu Nketia is wrong. The numbers are meant to be unique so that no one can switch the real ones to be replaced with fake ones, after the declaration at polling stations but before collation.

I believe there is public knowledge over the use of seial numbers in many areas of work, but does it work the same in our elctions, is another point worth considering.

With the acquired knowledge that, pink sheet has space for the filling of the name of the polling station and also the code number and further segmented into EL 21B and EL22B. This political and electorial intelligence help us to understand that the pink sheet becomes valuable only when it is filled with the polling station name and the code number. If this is what General Nketia is trying to prove then he is a man of intelligence in that scenario.

Honestly, this testimony from Asiedu Nketiah is impressive and we need to take it for what it is irrespective of its impact on the petition case. Here is why:

Dr Bawumiah likened the "pink sheets" to a cheque (check if you are in America)book and insisted that they had to have different serial numbers and were supposed to be fixed. Nketiah disagreed fundamentally, describing the nature, type and function of the pink sheet similar to the "pay-in slip" you have at the back of your cheque book, or that you can pick up at any bank branch for paying in your deposits. It is ONLY when you fill in the details of the account, sort code, branch address etc. that the pay-in slip becomes active and relevant.

Folks, I just checked my Barclays cheque book and surprise surprise, whereas each leaflet of the cheques has a specific code number (serial number) which cannot be duplicated, at the back, the pay-in slips in MY cheque book HAVE NO serial numbers!!! In fact, the information provided on each slip is exactly the same!!!

The long and short of it is that if we are to examine the two analogies given by the two witnesses, then clearly Asiedu Nketiah's version of the nature, type and function of the pink sheets is the more rational of the two and therefore a better analogy than Bawumiah's.

As to whether this is of any particular significance in the case, one cannot tell, but as a way of explaining to the public following this case, honestly Nketiah has equipped himself well and where credit is due, I believe we should give it!

I think of all the arguements being put forward by the petitioners,the bit about same serial numbers is the weakest of them all. If the purpose of having a pink sheet is to record polling station results and that this can be identified by the use of the polling station code, then having a serial number or not is actually irrelivant. If indeed, serial numbers are very important as the petitioners want as to believe and that each polling station should have a unique serial number, then the question is, what happens when the said pick sheet booklets get lost, will that imply that those results from that particular polling station can not be recorded evn though the primary informations are available. In my humble opinion, the pink sheets can be any piece of paper that will have the correct polling station codes and other relivant information that all polling agents and presiding officer can attest to, what is rather important is the ballot sheet used for voting which must be secured with all the necessary security features inorder to track overvoting etc etc.

While standing in line, waiting to give his note to the teller, he began to worry that some-one had seen him write the note and might call the police before he reached the teller window.

So he left the Bank of America and crossed the street to Wells Fargo.

After waiting a few minutes in line, he handed his note to the Wells Fargo teller. the reason is that Democracy had come to stay in the Country so we Need to promote and protect it.

one may argue well that was the press conferenc upon press confereces from all the political parties necessary?
if yes then it must be use as an evidence against whom it may be merit or demerit in court to curtain it future occurance

The idea and methodology is simple you can't give a particular number to anyone because its not serial numbers EC is using to identify the polling stations.

The idea and methodology is simple you can't give a particular number to anyone because its not serial numbers EC is using to identify the polling stations.
It's just common sense but you just have to analysis these issue out of party politice to understand the anology.
Example polling station name suntreso primary B if in kumasi first will have the regine code F1 the polling station code say SP26002. You can't link this to serial numbers because you had to write and joie all the numbers after the polling to create the number on the so-called pink sheet to read F1-SPB26002 then all the agen will sign to confirm the polling numbers then return to the EC's office by the returning officer.
This in any sense can't be classified as serial number as this is not backcoded in any data base as serial numbers will do.
Let be factural in our basic analysis to emphasis a point well of wisdom than just politricks.
