When Kwaku Baako informed us about the atrocities of Kwesi Pratt during PNDC Regime, some of us did not believe until the truth was confirmed during the NRC. Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. The souls of those journalist killed through Pratt's recommendations to PNDC will never forgive Pratt. Now Pratt has the guts to take Diplomatic Passport and smuggled his weak-headed children to work at the Ministries under Mills NDC, may God forgive Pratt and his dependance and spare them of the evils ahead of them...

Is Gabby by any chance aware that we won independence in 1957? Why cant these Busia-Danquah people wean themselves off their colonial 'masters'? They just love to be slaves for others dont they?

Even when as in the above instance there was absolutely no need to refer to the BBC, because the BBC is completely state sponsored, Gabby has to make reference to and promote the BBC before he can gain his composure to speak.

What surprises me even more is how Gabby can miss what is otherwise, a glaring opportunity such this to castigate the BBC for running as a socialist state sponsored organization.

Gabby Otchere Darko, perhaps you might have missed the boat somewhere along the line but Ghanaians are perfectly well capable of solving their own problems without hanging on to the apron strings of authoritarian colonial diktat.

If those colonial 'masters' could solve our problems, they would have done so during the over 400 years that they imposed themselves upon us as dictators. More anon!

FYI, PBS still gets some subvention from the US government. Congress appropriates funds to PBS, that was why Mitt Romney in the first Debate said he would stop funding PBS as President, even though he liked some of their programs(Big Bird) and even the moderator of the debate who works for PBS.

However it would be fair to say that PBS also raises funds from donations etc from their seasonal fund drives.

Stop misleading the public when you do not have all your facts right.

All this your PBS and FYI and what, Big Bird, means jackshit to me and are all unnecessary distractions from our situation on the ground. I am not interested in how things are done in America. I am interested in how we should do be doing things in Ghana.

Some of us have recovered from the colonial and mental slavery, you know and therefore we would want to do things in a way that is best suited to our socio-economic conditions.

If you are a Ghanaian, please come down to earth and make an effort to dissect the Ghanaian problem at hand so that we can get long-lasting Ghanaian solutions. Interfacing other peoples fanciful solutions will definitely not work on a long-term basis. It has been proven time and again in this country and Africa as a whole that foreign interventions on the most part dont work.

How sad! There is nothing GBC is going to learn from PBS. And FYI, means For Your Information, and Big Bird is a TV character for kids that depicts a big talking yellow bird.

Soomui if you really read and understood my contribution you would have realized that what I wrote was to debunk Ghfuo's statement that GBC should learn from the PBS, and I was telling him GBC does not need to learn anything from them because the PBS does not know "FOKO" worth learning by the GBC.

Abigail I think that in all fairness Otchere Darko making his views clear in the public domain through the media amounts to giving the clue-less GBC Director free advice. This is in bearing in mind that, it is not in any case, a normal practice for politicians in opposing Parties in this part of the world to extend a hand of friendship and advice to each other. To expect that kind of exchange would unfortunately be asking for too much. However Otchere Darko in spite of his normal anti-NDC rambunctiousness did offer that advice and we must be grateful for it.
Let us be realistic. I cannot imagine Otchere Darko, a well-known NPP fire-brand, walking up to an NDC appointed functionary like the GBC Director and proffering advice. No matter how good that advice is, they will refuse it. Not too long ago, the former NDC President, in spite of all the odds and concurrent advantages, refused to occupy the newly-built Presidential edifice – the Golden Jubilee House, that had been built at great cost by the preceding govt of the NPP.
In doing so they concocted all sorts of unrealistic reasons relating to the structure, including the cost and financing of the project, the inappropriate aesthetic design, the lack of security considerations and what have you, to childishly justify the inability for the NDC President to move from the old gory slave castle and to live there. Even more petty still, when eventually the NDC somehow managed to acquire some good sense to acknowledge the superior reasons as to why the President should move in the Golden Jubilee House, they then decided to change the name of the place back to the original colonial epithet, Flagstaff House, as if they were not aware of both the unfortunate and unpleasant historical as well as functional implications of the name Flagstaff House.
This is how bizarre politics can get and so I think that the advice by Otchere Darko through the media is sufficient. What remains now is to see whether the NDC will concur.

But,it looks like,GBC has not taken that advantage due to lack of ideas to take advantsge in what we call:TIMING.

For starters, GBC has the coverage rights of the trial. All the other Radio and TV stations are picking off GBC. Just this alone should be able to cover the daily technical expenses incurred by the GBC. Unless of course they are unjustifiably doing this for free.

Out of this arrangement, GBC can reap, not hundreds of thousands of Cedis a day, but millions of Cedis, considering the weight and significance of the trial internationally - today and tomorrow.

Dennis Awah, if I were you, I would hide my ignorance of the issues and facts as they are.

We want free education, school feeding programs and free everything. How many people pay proper tax in Ghana? How many self employed, hawkers, kayayee pay tax in Ghana.

Until we have proper house addresses...until everybody/every_Ghanaian resident in Ghana is registered and given a unique identifier/social_security_number with information of children and spouse etc.....NOTHING WILL WORK.

It is incredible that GBC with sole coverage rights cannot find or strategize sponsorship schemes to alleviate its costs.

He himself admits that everybody wants to see this Supreme Court Show and he means he cannot translate this into tons of money??????????????

Why is it that our govts always pull these funny people out of their hats to head and run down our state institutions and make it seem that state institutions dont work??

Mark my word if or when the GBC drops this privilege to cover the trial, one of the other smaller TV stations will pick it up and make billions out of it."

Today, after sleeping and thinking over it, I am now saying that this is one of the greatest media bonanzas (opportunity) that has ever come our way in this country and Ghanaians are running away from it and like usual, we are making excuses as to why it cannot be done instead of brainstorming and creating reasons as to why it should and can be done.

Bankers excessiveness, corporate interest above social interest, tax avoidance, etc. The system like every human system is so flawed that they are looking for answers in secret.

This is why Africa must fashion out her own systems and not just copy. If we were not following things blindly, this case would not have come to court in the first place. There is something called election reforms and even the white man will use that option than jump up to court on this massive scale.
Firstly, GTV is a public institution and I doubt if they can make those ventures he is suggesting. Secondly, I wonder, who in their right mind will pay to watch such a public show of a nation's stupidity. We watch because it is free, put a charge and people will leave or turn to radio.
I am very happy that by some good fate, Ghana did not see these current crop of NPP gurus in power and believe me, we have been spared some dangerous kamikaze experiments with our country. Ghana will do well matching on together for now, than allow ourselves to be rushed through a white man's system that is by itself creating extreme problems for the very originators. Free market works most times for the interest of strong nations or generously favoured nations, such as South Korea, India, and Singapore, but we Africans should not underestimate our potentials which is a direct worry to the west and thus their need to keep us in our place. If we are to fashion out our own destiny, deviants like Nana Addo and Gaba must be prevented from taking decisions for mother Ghana. This is a warning and we refuse it at our own peril.
